Musk, Vivek to host weekly DOGEcast on cost-cutting
#1
Quote:BREAKING: Vivek just announced that he will be pausing his own weekly podcast to launch a new show with Elon called "DOGEcast," which they will use to give the nation regular updates on their cost-cutting I am going to be watching every single minute of their new show. Imagine each week they talk about a shocking new piece of waste they found. Gentlemen
@VivekGRamaswamy

@elonmusk, you are present-day founding fathers.

This is an awesome timeline.

I’m loving it and will be tuning in!

Well that is great and all, everyone loves outrage at the sloppy eating habits of the beast, but perhaps they could address why no matter who gets elected, US Foreign Policy remains largely unchanged, from administration to administration, with only how it's presented to the public being reformulated?

Or why we, um, don't seem to actually have a working democracy?

But I'm sure lots of juicy news stories will result from Musk's effort. So there's that.

He’s going to post his own weekly news stories on DOGEing the government.

A couple of Very Rich Dudes with not a lot of life experience (other than being really rich and privileged) are going to cost-cut the government.  Looking at their financial histories and how they treat companies, I have no faith in their ability to sort out the real issues.

Oh -- and let's not forget that Marjorie Taylor Greene is now part of DOGE.

This... will be interesting.

Maybe him being Sooth Afriken he will do like De Klerk and get rid of the US nukes they are not using?

And other tings that will never happen
I was not here.

I had prompted this to say: "Elon Musk and a shiba inu in a Scrooge McDuck money vault sitting on pile of gold coins playing video games."

But this still works in a pretentious New Yorker type of way.

ALL HAIL "EXTREME GREED!"

DOGE and SHIB started shooting up on the 5th for some reason. Silver linings.

I am relatively unconcerned with their financial footprint.

Insofar as I am qualified to judge, they have lived a life... with all that comes with it.

Of immediate concern is that they might serve to effect a rational exposition of the ways and means that the government has been captured, abused, and exploited with impunity (and by design.)  In their (ostensibly politically-motivated) attempts to 'cut the useless waste' out of government, they will incidentally find the exact "who's" and "what's" of the matter and remove that 'jury-rigged' process and policy and perhaps, if the people's representatives still function... keep it from ever happening again...

That's my "base case scenario" for their participation.

The frippery of the media 'information nuggets' and their narratives that apparently must always be applied in reporting, are amusing but almost certainly embellished, skewed, and intentionally too complimentary, or too prejudicial.

If I had any say I would encourage them to "start a the top," start at the party.  THAT is where the real control and design takes place.

But hey... I'm just another nobody conspiracy theorist who by definition, must be wrong.

To paraphrase a blog I read somewhere, instead of making a whole new department to cost cut in Government, is this not the definition of counter productive?  We already have an office of budget and management 'The Office of Management and Budget evaluates, formulates, and coordinates management procedures and program objectives within and among Federal departments and agencies.'

Creating this new Department of Government Efficiency merely wastes more tax dollars on a redundant new department? Just like DHS was unneeded, and look how bloated that became?
Just like TSA was unneeded and look how bloated that became?

Therefore, is this not more theatrical placating of the masses?

so there is also the narrative that government spending is like household spending, and government debt is like household debt.

it's not. they're conflated. that conflation is a control mechanism.

governments invent money.

or the thing that invents governments also invents money.

it's pretend.

case in point: defense spending.

making government more dollar-efficient ain't gonna do jack squat.
