Oh and there will be much anger and complaining and WCSWNFB in the interim
It's like Donald Trump is leading us across a new financial frontier.
He's not wrong on this point, though
His mind was not for rent to any god or government

If your country has done relatively little business with India, what makes Trump think that high tariffs will have any impact either way?

Let's not forget the world's worst problem:
We have too many yachts...
Just because all 7 billion humans can't each have a yacht doesn't mean we should tear down the system. FFS
This doesn't mean there isn't corruption, graft, and excessive wealth. There is and will continue to be till we get to the next age of human enlightenment, but
If we regulate out the profit for corporations, we will likely have less innovation, and the whole world would live in stagflation like the 70s, or worse
Sooner or later, some humans will want more

FWIW,
Im not concerned about why Trump does this or that, just what the outcome may be and how it will affect me in the immediate future
I don't have much of a life, but as for psychoanalyzing politicians' motivations, my first thought is he has to pressure India because of how much business they do with Russia. If he can kill 2 birds with one stone, he is just giving it a good old college try.
Sure we have outsource customer service but all indications that will ne one of the first human jobs to fall to AI
Again, mostly negotiations, let's see where we are next week and who needs whom the most

Bro jobs have already been lost to AI. Top CEO's have admitted to canning thousands of American jobs just this year directly because of AI.
And India will continue to be information brokers for some time. No matter the change in American policy.

Yeah, Bro, I don't worry one iota about any innovations I can't stop.
Where did I suggest or infer that jobs in AMERICA haven't been lost to AI?
It will be the reality, and we will have to adjust. Im using AI for videos, and it cut down the process tremendously, with superior output
This thread is marginally about that, but this is mostly about the tariff negotiations.
Regardless, we will slowly adapt to the new AI reality. I CAN easily see American companies dropping the cost of outsourcing CS, and moving to an AI solution
Just a realist. If America can get its customer service from AI instead of Achmed cheaper, thats's what will happen. Superior human customer service is rare and is not cheap.
It's no different than the horse and buggy being replaced by the auto, which took years, even decades, in some places
Well, no difference, except we are now collective whiney obnoxious reactionary azzholes, full of paranoid fears and concerns, and no coping skills or adaptive flexibility
Im not suggesting there aren't concerns, just that AI done correctly could be a tool for all of humanity.
What if corporations become so efficient that we do get real UBI, real free, fast, and proper healthcare, free education, leading to more time for our actual lives instead of our livelihoods
Thats the pie in the sky AI narrative, isn't it?

You and some others here will just be looking away, as usual, and calling BS...because...orange man allegedly good.
Meanwhile, farmers are losing their farms. But that's what happened last time Trump was in office and he'll just bail them out with your tax dollars, as per usual. Rinse and repeat.
Major downward revisions in the downward spiral for job losses.
Check out this job posting:
"A Louisiana staffing agency is getting dragged after posting a job ad offering an $11-per-hour, 7-day-a-week farm labor job in the summer sun. The ad, which has since been taken down, promised zero days off and shifts lasting up to 10 hours a day to pick blueberries."
10-hour shifts, 7 days a week, $11/hr: This job ad got went viral for all ... - Scrap.com
Why aren't MAGA jumping at the chance to replace the deported immigrants that they say stole their jobs?

Because the left told us to learn to code.
