Monkey Magic (Journey to the West)
#1
In high school we were to bring a story from our childhood for some English assignment. A Malaysian girl in my class brought in the story of The Monkey King...

Little did she know that all us Aussie kids grew up watching Monkey Magic, a dubbed Japanese version of Journey to the West, she was kinda annoyed at us knowing what happenes next. But here for your cheesy viewing, behold the Monkey King. Its good silly fun.

What an interesting historical and art history tidbit, one of my interests in life is art history. Also live stage.

Have you read the Bridge of Birds series of novels?  Excellent books, and Number Ten Ox is a favorite character of mine.

That was kinda her perspective, her history was "entertainment" for us and she knew we didnt get most of the philosophy.

I chose to share it here cos I shared it on my FB and thought here some of you will know the sotroy if not from this series.

I have not, but I'll look it up, I have plenty of reading time. Thanks for the recommendation.

I think part of Monkey's appeal is that he can be selfish, capricious just down right naughty like the rest of us :)
