Yes, predominantly self serving but they won’t admit it so openly They like to pretend they are nominally altruistic and not so self serving or seeking. Not only does the op think he is special, he thinks he is special without being special in anyway. I can’t understand that kind of delusion

I love the humor here.
I can't believe that some people get angry just because King is having a little bit of fun, I mean, he doesn't really hurt anybody does he?! How is he any different than all the entertainers/politicians/etc, of this world?! At least he doesn't pretend to be "normal" (whatever that actually is). Because his mask is off.

I love this quote by Aldous Huxley: "The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives, that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does. They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted."
