RIP Mani.

A classic.

They always looked of their head to me when ever they played live back in the day.

RIP

Not Mani on bass, but that's my favourite Roses tune.

Grim news, RIP.

Was lucky enough to see him play with Primal Scream at Leeds Festival decades ago - he missed the first few songs of the set as he was allegedly in police custody/nabbed by security for weed but came on for the second half of the gig to huge cheers and ramped the gig up several notches.

Absolute legend taken too soon.

I was an indie music kid in the 1990s and early 2000s. Love the John Leckie production on that first Stone Roses LP but I don't think they had the material to justify further albums but very sad to hear about Mani's passing.

My cousin Robert Young played in Primal Scream right up until 2006.

Another one taken too young, but that was down to other nasty stuff.

I've got a few signed albums/EPs in the loft.

Robert Young also played on a Felt album.

For myself Felt were the best indie band of the 1980s but unfortunately because John Peel wasn't a fan they never got the attention they deserved.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. I love the early single Velocity Girl by Primal Scream ever since I first heard it on the C86 NME compilation.
