I have tried …
I’ve been hospitalized…
I should add meditation and faith/church to the list. They help too.
I hear you, but this Army veteran appears to have had a lot of issues even up to the point while he was driving to Arizona, so much so that he believed he was being followed - that looks a lot like paranoia. It's strange because I also read where he was recently married and they had a baby - these events in life should make one elated not the opposite, unless his untreated issues caused problems with the marriage.

I did list therapy first.
Problem is therapy at VA has never helped me, I find it more triggering than helpful.
i’m sure I’m not alone.
I was blessed to have years of therapy with a non-va therapist who use to be head of the state hospital, very knowledgeable.
Most vets won’t have that option, and finding a good therapist is very hard. Almost all of them are not very good, and many therapist hurt/make things worse.
Maybe my experience is not typical, maybe others find good therapist easily. I don’t know.

Well I can speak for myself and my partner that it is very difficult finding a good therapist, they all come with their biases and agendae, but they weren't specialized for vets - just regular traumatizing civilian experiences.
Actually, I am very curious how the VA handles veterans such as this vet who has such extreme guilt from killing other people that he can't get over it. I can't imagine any type of therapy can help someone out of that dark hole.

Don't forget about his Traumatic Brain Injury, while on duty. Very difficult to come back normal from those.

A new after-action report from Las Vegas police was released yesterday. First a reminder:
Quote:In his alleged email manifesto, according to Shoemate, Livelsberger warned that the drones spotted across the East Coast last year, pose "the most dangerous threat to national security that has ever existed."
The email warned that drones are sent from China and "basically have an unlimited payload capacity and can park it over the WH if they wanted. It's checkmate."
The alleged email stated that the drones were being used in a similar fashion to the Chinese spy balloon that was shot down off the coast of South Carolina in 2023, as both a show of force and for surveillance.
"What we have been seeing with 'drones' is the operational use of gravitic propulsion systems powered aircraft by, most recently, China in the East Coast, but throughout history, the U.S. Only we and China have this capability," the alleged email reads. "China has been launching them from the Atlantic from submarines for years, but this activity recently has picked up."
The alleged email urged the U.S. government to publicly share the information they have on Beijing's use of drones and warned "China is poised to attack anywhere in the East Coast."
The FBI and DHS said in a joint statement last month that there was "no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus."
Livelsberger had some experience with drones after he accepted a role as a remote and autonomous systems manager while stationed at Camp Panzer Kaserne just southwest of Stuttgart, Germany, in November 2024. In that job, he helped to integrate drones into the Army and ensured they were operated and maintained to a sufficient standard.
In Livelsberger's alleged email, he also talks about being "followed" by the FBI or DHS and his fears they would not let him cross into Mexico. https://www.newsweek.com/matthew-livelsb...to-2009560
Now, buried in the after-action report, we have confirmation from Las Vegas police that their investigation was halted and the entire issue classified:
Quote:In keeping with the spirit of the Fusion Center model, all information obtained through the course of the investigation was shared among all members of the investigative team. Before Sheriff McMahill’s third press conference, where he intended to provide updates on a manifesto that was recovered among Livelsberger’s digital devices, the FBI notified him that the Department of Defense had deemed the manifesto classified, and LVMPD could no longer release further information to the public. Due to concerns regarding national security, LVMPD halted its investigation to allow its federal partners to take the lead, at the direction of the Department of Defense. https://www.lvmpd.com/home/showdocument?...5095756596 (78-page PDF)
