Jimmy Kimmel pulled from the air over false comment about Kirk murder

Carlin knew how deranged the Liberals were and are.

Meanwhile this is what the Charlie Kirk vigil in Huntington Beach, CA looked like:

I think it must be a new White Nationalist Christian group formed. I don't recognize the flag or Pro Patria (for the fatherland) name.

Anyway, a person has some questions, notice that MAGA hatted people join in the chant.

White Men Shooting 'White Men Fight Back'

I would say which local affiliate I got the screen shots from, but they may suffer consequences for shedding a not official position.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

Brandan Carr -- head of the FCC
In June 2017, President Donald Trump nominated Carr to serve as a commissioner of the FCC. As commissioner, Carr initially focused on networks, though he began criticizing social media companies and China over perceived authoritarian policies later in his first term. He was involved in Project 2025 and wrote a section of The Heritage Foundation's Mandate for Leadership (2023).
In November 2024, president-elect Donald Trump named Carr as his chair of the FCC. He took office following Trump's second inauguration.

Too bad that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the "Long Arm of The Law"....... derp

And? Any malfeasance perpetuated would be subject legal action. There is absolutely no indication Carr had a thing to do with it.
I couldn't possibly care less what other politicians and/or celebrities think about this.    Kimmel's job was to push the edge to stay relevant and marketable to draw those shiny advertising dollars.   No mystery.   Those that seek the edge sometimes find it, and in doing so, they lose the right to complain about the consequences.  However.......  it was his opinion.   I don't like Kimmel much even before all this, but have nothing against him.   I exercise my right to not watch him and don't really care.

I'm pretty certain this boils down to pressure put on the network, and ABC's kneejerk reaction.   There are a lot of sharks smelling the blood in the water now, over the Charlie Kirk assassination.   People shouldn't say stupid shit about it, but I'm not certain the consequences of saying stupid shit are commensurate with the utterances of mostly ignorable people.

Nobody I've read/heard/talked to has expressed a view that Charlie Kirk deserved to be shot for his words.   I haven't talked to anyone who expressed joy over his assassination.   I think we are all free to agree or disagree or not care at all.    I wonder if all the uproar is mostly internet attention whores who seek to build their own relevance on the back of the horrible assassination... .... Senators and other politicians included.

I'm sure the money behind the advertising leaned on ABC and they folded like a cheap suit.  I don't personally care what happens to Kimmel, but don't think his smarmy comments deserved his being cancelled.  JMHO.

Don't be so naive. It's about the money but not the way you think. Just like with Colbert, this move was to curry favor with the Trump administration so a buyout or merger could proceed without interference.

Looks fantastic.

I wish I was there for it.

Tell that to the ABC execs and shareholders.

When affiliate stations want to drop a show because of miserable ratings, which equals dollars, it's time for the loser to go.
I'm sure everyone upset about ABC firing Kimmel was just as upset about ABC firing Rosanne Barr...and Disney firing Gina Carano.

Christopher Anders, director of the Democracy and Technology Division at the American Civil Liberties Union, said:

“Jimmy Kimmel is the latest target of the Trump administration’s unconstitutional plan to silence its critics and control what the American people watch and read. Cowering to threats, ABC and the biggest owner of its affiliate stations gave the Trump FCC chairman exactly what he wanted by suspending Kimmel indefinitely and dropping the show.
“This is beyond McCarthyism. Trump officials are repeatedly abusing their power to stop ideas they don’t like, deciding who can speak, write, and even joke. The Trump administration's actions, paired with ABC's capitulation, represent a grave threat to our First Amendment freedoms.”

This action by the Trump administration comes just two days after President Donald Trump sued the New York Times, the book publisher Penguin Random House, and four New York Times reporters for news reporting and analysis that the president disliked. It also follows other national broadcasters changing their programming after pressure from the Trump administration, and with business pending before the FCC.

Nope.

Jimmy Kimmel is a guy who got caught lying and his bosses decided they weren't going to finance his lies anymore.

He isn't funny.  He isn't honest.   He isn't employed.    It's just that simple.
