Simply because the world spun, and they refused to catch up....
You know if they tell somebody they can't have something, they will only want it more, right?
End of the day it's simply all about money.
No.
It’s about them not wanting Kimmels show.
That’s why they shelved it.
They don’t want to pay for a show that destroys their advertising revenue.
They can’t be made to either.
Some assholes made a law that said corporations are people so here we are.

It did not remain "shelved" for very long, now did it?
Why was that?
The number of Google searches regarding the cancellation of Disney+ by the look of it.
Again, it's all about revenue streams and subscriptions, which equate to money.
Ever heard the saying "there is no bad pr"?
Granted that the law does seem crazy, but here we are indeed.
If we are going to hold comedians or their staff responsible for silly remarks they make on TV.
Well, there goes comedy, late-night or otherwise.

Incorrect.
It wasn't shelved as it will back on air very soon.
Disney stock fell after it was 'put on hold' and was soon bought back because of the out cry over free speech, and dip in profits.
As shown in my previous posts, Kimmel is number 1 in late night talk shows, and as certain members can't seem to understand, broadcasting TV days are numbered, with streaming far out pacing 'regular' or 'old person' TV. So ALL old style broadcasting TV is dying and not just one particular show.

Well, there goes comedy.
Well Nexstar and Sinclair are both continuing to shelve his show.
It wasn’t a “silly” remark.
The advertisers didn’t like it nor did the media companies.
Disney didn’t like it either because now they’re paying to produce a show they can’t sell.

Actually Gutfeld is. He beats 'em all.
Yes, all the late night so called 'comedians' shows are dying.
And Kimmels own bad behavior is pushing his show off the cliff quicker.
70 networks are not reinstating him (as of 5 minutes ago).

If that was the case, do you really think they would have brought it back, or as fast as they did?
Again, money talks, the rest just do the walk.
Lots of people watch the likes of Jimmy Kimmel on other platforms.
And not just in America, but worldwide.
The landscape is changing, but the talent remains the same.

Got a link for that?
From what I've checked and posted, Kimmel is number 1 in the only age group that matters to TV, 18 to 49.
Edit to add...
This does change regularly with host swapping places but...
Quote:And actually, the most recent round of numbers for Kimmel were positive. He moved slightly ahead of rival The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which CBS recently cancelled, among adults ages 18-49 – the key demographic for advertisers. They base their ad sales on how many viewers shows pull in that group.
Kimmel averaged 220,000 adults 18-49 during the second quarter (three months ended June 30), according to data from Nielsen. That was 1,000 more than Colbert and marked Kimmel’s strongest performance with the demo in a year.

Sinclair broadcasting:
193 stations
100+ markets
40% of American households
Nexstar Media Group:
200+ stations
116 markets
The company is the largest local television broadcast and digital media company in the nation and holds the largest portfolio of top network affiliates.
This is a big deal.
Do you have any idea how much money Disney is losing each day Kimmels show is shelved?

I heard it on TV a few times but I'll look around for something in writing.
Gutfeld being #1 in latenight was not specific to any demographic like just 18-49.
I'll look around .... BRB ....

Out of how many networks?
Probably mean stations.
