Quote:Texas Democrat Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett appears to have omitted the ownership of stocks of 25 different companies while in Congress, after sharing the information during her time as a state legislator. Crockett also failed to disclose ownership of the stocks during her 2022 congressional campaign, as well as after entering Congress in 2023.
Records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon in a new investigative report show Crockett held shares in major corporations including Amazon, ExxonMobil, Johnson and Johnson, and Aurora Cannabis while publicly promoting herself as a progressive environmental advocate.
Her undisclosed holdings and debts, totaling over $110,000, raise potential conflict-of-interest concerns, as some companies stood to benefit from legislation she supported in both Texas and Congress. Crockett, a civil rights attorney and outspoken supporter of marijuana decriminalization, also had business interests in cannabis through her firm, Black Diamond Investments, which sought dispensary licenses in Ohio.
