James Comey Indicited
(09-27-2025, 09:11 AM)FlyersFan Wrote: He lied under oath to congress.  It's a crime.
He had classified/sensitive documents from the FBI that he wasn't supposed to have.
He leaked sensitive information to the press all to further his political agenda.
He had a position of trust for the American people and he betrayed it.
He, and his minions, destroyed the reputation of the FBI by their partisan actions.

Not exactly things a smart person would do.

Did he though? I don't think there's a case here. Trump insisted on prosecuting so they cooked something up.

If the judge throws it out, will you change your mind? Or what would need to happen?

There is no question about the leak.
That's established fact.
And his own people testified against him.
True .. McCabe is slime and could be lying.
But it was a big leak ... something the top dog would have approved.

If the judge throws it out it'll be because the prosecution can't pin down in court if it's McCabe or Comey lying.  One of them absolutely is.   And given Comey's history and the fact that his #2 testified against him ....

No, if it's tossed that won't change my mind.   It just means it can't be proven, not that he's innocent.  Taken as a whole, his behavior and his rhetoric and the damage he caused to the FBI and so to the country, I'd still be on the side of him being slime.   So is McCabe ... just to be clear.

(and you didn't ask but I"ll say it the same ... Trump isn't a smart man either.  He's just lucky.)

Comey was asked under oath if he "authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports.”
An Obama-appointed Inspector General wrote a whole report on the subject, and the FBI’s “Arctic Haze” memos also address this is great detail.

An FBI Director has some discretion to leak.
The problem, is lying about it.

Yep.   And he did not name McCabe.
However, McCabe named Comey.
And considering what was leaked and how big a deal it was,
it HAD to be approved by the top dog.   No minion could have
done something that big on their own.
Both McCabe and Comey are slime ... so it's a matter of
which slime spewing do you believe.
The problem I have here is "Rules For Thee, But Not For Me".  If the FBI (or any 3-letter agency) lie to us, it is legal for them.  But if any of us lie to them (even by accident), we get about 5 years in the klink.  But what he is charged with is far higher than that.  Not a chance he will be convicted.  Trial in Eastern Virginia (reportedly about 85% liberals, and I heard an Obama appointed judge.  The jury pool will almost certainly be heavily liberal I think.  Not a chance of conviction in those courts in my opinion.  Oh well...minions like all of us do not get that advantage that is given to higher powers.

Funny “they” can’t come clean about one of the biggest lies and election interference cases which is Trump Russian Collusion.  I wonder how life for Dems would be different if they worked with Trump first term instead of wasting years on their lies.

Your take seems to heavily rely on this being a certainty. Why are you so certain?

Multiple people were convicted in that case, including people very close to Trump. Remember Paul Manafort?

I already gave the links showing that the leak happened for sure.
There is no question about it.  Acknowledged by both right and left.
Either Comey or McCabe leaked it and lied about it.  Both are slime.
McCabe says it was Comey who was top dog.
Comey doesn't say McCabe did it.
This leak was about Hillary and the election.   It was massive.
Common sense says that some minion wouldn't have done it without
prior approval from the top dog.  It's too big for a minion to make the call.

The truth (at least from my experience) I started noticing this when there appeared to be a sudden explosion of "political appointees" introduced into government operations with specific coordination... all powerful, with unquestionable tenure....

"Bad vuju" - Kha Dargo

I have said it before... I will risk alienating people who will yawn...

ALL Politicians are activists... by definition...
(In which case, activism has killed more humans as a single social practice...
perhaps the most of all categories.)

they appoint other activists to positions...

Activism is poison in public service....

There had traditionally been a line one doesn't voluntarily cross when serving the public...
it's a 'civics' thing...  (e.g.  Who did I vote for is none of anyone's G-damned business. - Public servants aren't free to express their discontent by not providing service, or serving only some and not others.)

Gee whiz... didn't they attend any of the civics lessons they appear to have boasted about?  Books, they've quoted, "memes' they've participated in...  Ugh... I'm agitating my inner child... who keeps tugging at my sleeve asking "Why do they say they are here to help, when they never actually 'do' anything?"
