Let's not forget, in Scientism, which often masquerades as science, he who spends the most money and funds the study, 'wins' with the results they want to share with the world.

So if I'm summarizing correctly, there are two bullshistic things going on:
1. The practice of science, as an institution, is subject to the same bias, corruption and failings, as other endeavours in human society, and is not an 'objective' reflection of the ideals of the scientific method.
2. The materialistic viewpoint, which indicates that everything society should be influenced by is quantifiable and objectively determinable, 'scientific', does not admit to any limit on its boundaries or validity beyond itself.
So there's that, but "true Science" (as practised by "true Scotsmen") rocks and is awesome.

i think so.
and 3. The ideal of True Science as opposed to the new religion of Scientism, is rarely reached, due to increased human meddling via monied interests. This was of course always true, but is perhaps more transparent as time goes on.

Oh no, blasphemy, questioning science
You have gone after a sacred cow and the wrath of the dedicated will fall upon you
Repent, accept the world is round, get the vaccine, believe in something from nothing. Never enquire or question, you are not smart enough
Science died, it’s now just corporate controlled advertising, working ways to get funding for the governments next awe inspiring policy release and speak down to people

No, science is alive and well, the fact that some people do not believe in it doesn't mean it stopped existing as it was.
As for being corporate controlled advertising, corporate controlled advertising disguised as science to fool the population has been in use for many decades, specially in the US, where, apparently, people are easily fooled by advertising.

hey what if this, you know how science is all like "we're just discovering how the universe works" which kind of makes it seem like a passive learning instrument but what if instead the act of sciencing and looking at the universe actually creates the complexity that science is looking for, sort of like if the universe is a simulation well okay everything is fine just being rendered in low-res, but hey then someone invents a microscope, and the universe being an adaptive simulation, develops rules a complexity and stuff to show us when we look though it. but it didn't exist before then. that would explain why there's no end to science! always new levels being invented. and science isn't passive, just "discovering" this stuff, its an active process actually forming reality in ways. isn't that what that quantum woo stuff is about, things don't exist until observed like that poor kitty cat.
so if that's the case, then the decision of what science to fund and encourage is actually shaping reality. talk about the ultimate psy-op power! huh maybe that makes sense maybe not!

No, science is dead, like the media
who now knows what is truth and what is a lie
The scientific method has been so badly corrupted, who knows the truth from the lie anymore
Just my opinion, after covid, very little trust in the scientific community

The scientific method still stands, ready to be used by those that do real science. If you ignore the media you will see that science is as good as it ever was.

First, do not judge science by what was done by a few people, many of which are not even scientists.
Second, science is a global thing, not just something that is done in a couple of countries.
In my opinion, nothing changed in science because of CoViD-10, although the perception some people have of science was changed by what other people (that probably know nothing about science) said about it.
Edited to add that I know one scientist that said he wasn't going to take a vaccine that wasn't completely tested. I also know a doctor that said the same and added that he told all his patients to take the flu vaccine but wasn't going to say the same about the CoViD-19 vaccines.

I'm still not sure that when we argue about the contention that "science is bullshit" we are actually talking about "science."
I thought, and still do, that science is a discipline.
But since we are observers, not involved within their own 'ecosystem' (so to speak) we can only rely on "reporting" to get our understanding of what is going on in the world of "science."
I think what is bullshit is most "science journalism" which embeds bias, minimizes effective discussion of dissent within the field, glamorizes 'celebrity' and popularity matters, coordinates with 'business' partners and sponsors to 'steer' attention towards the profitable (or at least away from the unprofitable.) All things that make it seem like it's "about science being bullshit" when it's actually what our sources "say" about science that usually points to the accumulation of bullshit...
