Is sounds like China is using some small tiles to modulate on a carrier wave used in scanning the Earth with radar to broadcast a message to tuned receivers. If it was about blending into the background microwave radiation, then how doe the receiver know where to look?

As a practical approach to get word out, using the already established infrastructure of the high ground is reasonable. If it is going on, will the sender of the message adapt should they become aware of third parties listening?

To expect China is working on methods of secure comms is reasonable. If you know what bit rate and frequency to check out, should not be too hard to find something. For the big investment, quantum entanglement is one high the radar.

Quantum processing chips are working with entanglement locally on the chip for moving data. Still a while away from no more lag playing online games or jump rooms to Mars and beyond.

It does get deep. The gradual, ongoing and steady improvements in processing over the decades, faster, cheaper and smaller is the direction it is going. More features and functions in a smaller package.

As for what will emerge as science continues to dig deeper into the fabric of reality, the keys to the universe? Maybe a clearer picture of our place in it will be scary for some?
