It certainly looks like things aren't calming down and people are still protesting.
Quote:Anti-Khamenei Protests Turn Violent Across Iran In New Year With Multiple Deaths Reported Amid Economic Crisis.Near-week-long protests against Iranian Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have escalated into deadly violence as the New Year began, with at least seven people killed, news agency Associated Press reported, citing Iranian media and rights groups.
As the New Year started, demonstrations spread from cities to rural areas, triggering street clashes between protesters and security forces across Iran.
Earlier protests saw university students in Tehran chant “Death to the dictator” and voice support for Reza Pahlavi, son of the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was overthrown in the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
As slogans of “Long live the Shah” rang out in parts of Tehran, Reza Pahlavi, currently living in exile in the United States, posted on X saying, “I am with you. Victory is ours because our cause is just and because we are united.”
"As long as this regime remains in power, the country’s economic situation will continue to deteriorate," he added.
The country is witnessing its largest protests in three years over soaring inflation, sparking violence across several regions.
Deaths were reported in Lordegan, Kuhdasht, and Isfahan, highlighting how unrest expanded after shopkeepers protested over government’s handling of a currency slide and rapidly rising prices.
It certainly looks like things aren't calming down and people are still protesting.
