Yeah, I also expect a big correction within six months.  We need phones to communicate, I think that some more stable telephone company stocks will not be hit so hard.  Neither will food production company stocks, and maybe stocks from companies necessary for our survival will not decline too much.

But a lot of technology stocks will be hit hard.   Always remember, stocks are bets on the stocks, not the security of the market.  Insider ownership is higher in some of the more stable companies....I have seen shares of stock in a company we had stock in years ago go down two dollars a share with very few shares being traded in a day.  Even a small number of shareholders selling their stock in a day can lower the value if the majority of shareholders are holding onto their stock.  The next day of the event I talked about, the shares went up almost all the way back up as people bought some more shares when the price dipped.  Whenever we sold stocks, by the time the stocks actually traded, the price had dropped so that is our luck, sold because it was high and by the time the stock actually got sold two days later, it dropped.  Now the trading is much faster than it was back in the mid eighties to early ninety, but then again, prices fluctuate much faster too.

We have a decently stable stock yet, but it is not that good at going up in value, but it does pay dividends quarterly, which is nice when we are retired.  The last dividend check plus extra went to pumping out the septic tank.  What a crappy way to spend a dividend check.  Five years ago it ws two hundred bucks to pump it, now it was four thirty five.  They raised the cost of the septic trucks bringing the sewage to the sewer treatment plants way up this year, and that extra charge raised people's cost of the septic services around here almost a hundred fifty bucks from last summer.  Yesterday was a crappy day, maybe we should invest in sewage treatment plants. Lol

double post deleted...I guess today is a crappy day too, got a foot of crappy white stuff dumped on us last night and today, so I got tired plowing, scooping snow, shoveling snow, and cleaning off cars.

Remember, if you can expect it reasonably, the market quickly builds it in to pricing. However, if you expect that to be true, then you can get taken for a ride that way as well! In short, I dunno. Smile

I would like to add my member's voice  to the notion...

A Forum of this nature could be a great asset to members...
But the T&C's must always rule...

Doesn't that mean no "fan boi-ism" urging to go a certain direction as "advice?"

I see this family of topics as volatile...
and I wonder if the "investment" gang will turn it into a
new mud-pit... or will the mud-pit come to them?

Three months ago I was going to post this stock. I have been researching this company for long time. I ended up buying it at $14 per share. I had no place to post my research.

That's exactly what I was talking about...

I see no reason to deny the conversation, as long as it's real.

But it does represent more work... of a conscientious and diligent nature...

Don't get me wrong, but I don't look forward to facing the inevitable cat-calls....
and the "social" end of the ugly-stick.

People do make bad calls, and sometimes hurt of the losses... most frequently
there wasn't anything they could have done to change the outcome.

Are they going to "blame DI" or the DI community?

I would not tell anyone to buy it’s up to the person.
