I’m curious of the beginning core belief.
Could it be? Was he tapping into a long forgotten beginning of our existence?
Definitely not a mind at rest.
And why are children in all these “cults” like experimental pawns?
That quote of his was said both in 1948 and again in 1978, so it would appear his core belief would be the all sacred pursuit of wealth.
All the rest of the goings on, especially with children, should have been a red flag for the adult members because treating children as if they are adults, considering their limited reasoning and maturity, is just not a reasonable position to take.
" Scientology doctrine views children as spiritual beings and "adults in small bodies" who house ancient thetans, meaning their childish status is considered irrelevant and they are expected to carry adult responsibilities and contribute to the church’s survival from a young age. The Church of Scientology officially states that children should be given love and respect equal to adults and encouraged to participate in family life, rejecting the idea that they should merely be "seen and not heard."
However, former members and critics describe a reality of severe neglect, isolation, and abuse, particularly for children of high-ranking Sea Org members. Key allegations and practices include: - Labor and Isolation: Children in the Cadet Org and at remote facilities like the Mace-Kingsley Ranches were reportedly subjected to manual labor, sleep deprivation, and separation from parents, with some children not seeing their parents for years.
- Interrogation and Control: Starting as young as age six, children were subjected to "sec checking" (security checks) by ethics officers to monitor behavior and report on parents, creating an environment of surveillance and fear.
- Medical Neglect: The doctrine often attributes illness to being a "Potential Trouble Source" (PTS) or interacting with Suppressive Persons, leading to delayed medical care, denial of medicine, or blame being placed on the child for getting sick.
- Psychological Impact: Second Generation Adults (SGAs) frequently report attachment issues, repressed emotions, and identity crises due to being raised in a high-demand group that prioritized church loyalty over parental bonding and normal childhood development. " (LLM)

Yet the parents basically gave up their parental rights to this cult, and I consider that child abuse and neglect.

Core beliefs? Remember, you asked for it. It is better to watch the whole video but the core beliefs start at 8 minutes.
As has been stated, this cult was made to make money. So it is rotten form the beginning.
If you are interested, YouTube has a lot of fun runs through the Scientology buildings while making videos for mapping them.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

Nooo, they got Isaac Hayes!
"Isaac Hayes released several songs and albums that explicitly reference or promote Scientology beliefs, often collaborating with other Scientologist musicians. Key works include: - "The Joy of Creating" (2001): A full album recorded with Doug E. Fresh titled The Joy of Creating – The Golden Era Musicians and Friends Play L. Ron Hubbard. The lyrics incorporate Scientology self-help speak and concepts, such as "Wax enthusiastic and you'll feel so" and "A being causes his own feelings."
- "United" (2006): A music video and song released for Youth for Human Rights International, a human rights group founded by the Church of Scientology-backed non-profit United for Human Rights.
- Endorsements and Blurbs: Hayes provided endorsement blurbs for numerous Scientology books and appeared in the Scientology film Orientation.
- Other Collaborations: While not solely his work, Hayes was part of the broader network of Scientologist musicians who contributed to devotional music, such as the album The Road To Freedom (1986) by John Travolta and Chick Corea, which utilized Hubbard’s recorded vocals.
Hayes, who joined the Church of Scientology in the 1990s, viewed these projects as part of his faith commitment, even as his role as Chef on South Park – which satirized Scientology – became a point of conflict." (LLM)

I will watch it when I can (kid entering the building). Learn more.
Not to derail the thread - but I actually believe the Terra Papers make sense. I was wondering if there is any comparison.
I will

That video covers a lot of their operations. Even the fact that most Scientologists do not know those core beliefs. They are kind of glossed over in that video but there is a link to the actual South Park episode. The ones in the cult are not told what it is about until they are so financially involved they can't just drop it. Also they did practice sueing anyone that said anything against the cult.
Thanks for bringing up that book. I ordered a copy. Unlike Scientology, the Terra Papers seem to be based in history.

At least from a measuring something electrical standpoint. I explained what it really does above. The reading is irrelevant to its operation and is mainly part of the distraction.
Just in case you missed it:

I don’t think there’s any excuse for being gullible.
If you want to try something — you should educate yourself first.
Now - with everything available on the net - there’s no excuse for going into anything blind or intentionally naive.

And yet they still get people to spend $200,000 just to hear about Xenu at OTIII.
Once they get someone hooked they're "registars" will call you daily when its time for more course work and auditing. Worse than debt collectors.
And for what?
$alvation should be free.. or a nominal fee...
It begs for Dr. Nick Riviera to do it for 5 easy payments of only $49.95!
Just charge people for:
Electrodes ("The Cans"): ~$5 – $10
The Meter Display: ~$20 – $40
Circuit Components (Resistors & Pots): ~$10 – $15
Housing & Wiring: ~$10 – $20
Box & shipping ~ $20 - $30
Full Beginners Guide ~ $35
Like scientology it would be better for someone else to ask questions at first, and this guide would explain that procedure.
As well as a section to tell when you've "cleared" your "engrams" or free'd yourself of whatever id call it.
Then, because this is capitalism, I'd charge $49.95 + shipping for The Advanced Guide.
Total investment about $300!
DISCOUNT SCIENTOLOGY. No extortion harassment.
You'd just need to have different designs, scripts for auditing psychotherapy, names for things, and take it to a legal expert to make sure its not actionable for copyright anywhere. There has to be a way.
They'd deserve it...

You know the difference between a new age practitioner and a wiccan? What the new age practitioners charges several hundred dollars for, the wiccan will charge less than a tenth that.
It seems as long as there is a buyer, some one will sell them any flavor of stairway to heaven they want. Too many ticket scalpers involved these days.
And learning about Scientology before you try it, that used to be impossible. The Scientologists really hate the internet.
