I'd like to post, but I'm in the throes of SSRI withdrawal, so my mind feels empty and I need to go score another hit of Zoloft.
Here's my favorite quote after the audience member asked about "chemtrails." Quote:“That is not happening in my agency. We don’t do that. It’s done — we think — by DARPA and a lot of it now is coming out of the jet fuel. Those materials are put in jet fuel. I’m going to do everything in my power to stop it. We’re bringing on somebody who’s gonna think only about that, find out who’s doing that and hold them accountable.” And we are in totally safe hands with logic like this: Quote:“Many of the parents have reported that their kid, that their child, developed autism immediately after the vaccine,” He's running in a hamster wheel of conspiracy delusion. It doesn't need spin, he just needs to talk and run. He seems obsessed with borderline Christian Scientist nonsense and blaming autism on vaccines. It's not like it's something that gets diagnosed 99% of the time after 2 years old or anything. "Oh the baby is just sleepy... Oh, he's just a little slow to talk.... and just a little slow to get moving... why the hell isn't my baby talking yet?" And then comes an anger they won't have a normal child, that whether spoken or not, gets blamed like any other grief... sometimes on the 14 vaccinations administered the first two years of life. His policies are rocks that keep tigers away and as detached as he is. As he suggested, I've also done my own research. But it was from studies by evil academic science controlling lefists at prestigious brainwashing factories like Havard Med. All part of a larger war on science for scientists leaning left. And now I am being lied to by the USC molecular biologist that tells me most assuredly HIV causes AIDS, contrary to what the environmental lawyer Health Secretary says.

Autism is a product of our environment and something we totally created.
To say it's "always been there but never diagnosed" is just bullshit. That's a great cover for those responsible though (ahem...Monanto). Ask yourself this. Of you folks over 30, how many can honestly say that their parents are autistic or on the spectrum? The tools and medications they're using weren't available back when we were kids, and my irregular heart beat (known since 1970 but only diagnosed 8 years ago) was intermittent and impossible to catch without a continuous monitor. My mom died from fibrillation and likely had an irregular heartbeat. If they'd been able to diagnose it when she was in her late 60's, she would likely still be alive. You can't fix what you don't know about, and people have died from things they didn't know about (heart disease, pancreatitis, cancers, sepsis, etc.) Kennedy's beliefs (I understand he thinks that diseases are caused by "bad air") are those widely held before 1930 and 1900. If you'll check life expectancy back then, it's about 10-15 years less than what we have now.

OK, then he gets an A Yeah, I'd need a citation on that..., not saying he didn't say it, but all of his suggestions still need Congressional approval, don't they? Tell me what the past Secretary of Health and Human Services accomplished in 100 days or 4 years...

Many of the things that modern medicine helps us with were also caused by things that we ingest daily. Like Kidney stones for instance, I would be willing to bet that 100 to 150 years ago that no one ever got kidney stones. I bet we had a lot healthier people that did not need life saving techniques. The life expectancy being lower is and easy one to figure out. The world was a lot harsher place. Our bodies were healthier but our environment wasnt. You were a lot more likely to die from environmental and social factors like the elements, poor safety techniques, murders. Laws were different, our ability to police was different and just trying to live was dangerous. Life was harder, it wasn't our health. Our obesity rate has skyrocketed and our health has plummeted. They may have a better chance of saving your life but you also have a much better chance of needing that help. Its a snake eating its tail.

They may have a better chance of saving your life but you also have a much better chance of needing that help. Its a snake eating its tail. You'd be wrong about the kidney stones. The ancient Egyptians knew about them and Hippocrates (430 BC) wrote about them. Plagues of many types were common throughout history (which is why people had so many children; with a mortality rate of one in 5 babies, you needed to have large families to ensure that one or two children reached adulthood.) Leprosy was so common that even a king fell victim to this disease and there was an entire order of Crusade knights (the Knights of St. Lazarus) who had leprosy. If you read up on diseases you see that ancient treatments were really ineffective and mostly enforced by superstition. During the Yellow Fever plagues in the 1800's in New Orleans (Yellow Fever in New Orleans 1800's) they burned tar and shot cannons (yes, really) to keep "yellow jack" at bay. During the Civil War, diarrhea and dysentery caused about 57,000 deaths (PBS on disease and Civil War) It's easy to find these examples; people dying of diseases that are considered trivial today because we can easily cure them (like rabies.) We hardly hear of anyone dying from tetanus but before 1980 (when a vaccine became available) it killed up to 1 million newborns each year... and that's in "modern times." (tetanus and death) Modern medicine does a lot better with these things. |
