Insect and/or Spider Bites

I got bitten on the dick by a scorpion 

There was a snake bite I went to hospital for, the snake survived.

But its the fkn mosquitos annd sand flys and ticks that will get you hauled up sick.

You can use petrol (gasoline) for ant bites, and you can use squashed ants for bee stings. Or the other way around, my memory and stuff.

When I was 5 or 6 I was stung by a wasp that I was trying to keep away from the grape juice we had just made (the traditional way, with our feet) on a large tank and that I was drinking.

She didn't like my actions and decided my lower lip was the best part to attack.
It was not funny (at least to me, I didn't ask the wasp).

Here in SC, we have a small red looking scorpion probably an inch long. I was cleaning the deck off a riding mower getting it ready for cutting season. The little bastard didn't like me moving his home around, ran out and tagged me between my fingers in the web. It felt like a honey bee sting or actually like a sweat bee sting. It wasn't bad especially as bad as those South Western bark scorpions I've heard about.
I was plowing my back field getting it ready to plant pines. I hit a rock and it stopped me. I got off and started moving the rocks and a copperhead was under one and tagged me on my left arm opposite my elbow. It swelled up and stung, and I got on the tractor and went as fast as it would go to my house to get first aid. By the time I got to my house the swelling had gone down and it quit hurting and started to slightly itch. I smeared it with antibiotic ointment and put a band aid on it and went back to plowing.

Don't really have a worst sting story.

But two odd stories.
First, I was preparing a small area for cucumbers to grow up a fence next to the garage.   Pissed off some little itsy bitsy driveway ants.....2-3 bit me.  Powerful grip for such little thing.

Then the other day some little itty bitty flying thing bit me.
I guess it was an noseeums.....a midge?
Didn't really swell, but a wide red area that itched a LOT! For two-three days.
Had to treat with plantain drops several times a day.   You can also use leaves of the fresh plant. but none around here.

We have those or something like them, too. Mosquitoes, deer flies, something that looks just like a house fly but bites, biting gnats and other flying things that are irritating when you are trying to work. I have found that if you turn the shower up to as hot as you can stand it and hold the bite under the hot stream of water it usually stops the itch. This has worked for me with poison ivy and stinging nettles, too.

I really didn't think much about it because I was ready for a smoke and I left mine at the bar which also is where my car was at so I am stoked to get those back man. Well that fracking wasp flew up my pants and stung my one inch to the right of my booty hole.

Don't you hate it when that happens! One year ago this month, August, I was working in my shop greasing my John Deere, having to lay on the floor to get to it. A spider crawled up my shorts and I didn't know it until I was disrobing that night to take a shower. Inside my pants were many pieces of a small spider, mostly legs. I didn't think much of it until the next morning when that area started itching really bad. I had a deep red spot about the size of a silver dollar. I believe it was a brown recluse. The red area is still there although it is much lighter in color. It didn't quit itching until a couple of months ago.

Yep...we have mosquitoes and deer flies as well ....And they seem to enjoy human that sweat.  Nasty buggers.

I regularly handle spiders. The only time I've ever been bitten is when I'm asleep and roll over on them, or inadvertently almost squish them. Thankfully never been bitten by a Black Widow or recluse! You're a tough one, NightFlight. 

And I don't mind spiders and wasps.  What I cannot stand is those horse flies!  Little bastards, the only thing I kill without hesitation.

I once was doing chores for my grandparents.

Accidently stuck my hand in a wasp's nest.

Got stung so much my hand looked like a catcher's mitt.

Grandma made a poultice of meat tenderizer and soaked my hand in it.

It took care of it.  Apparently, meat tenderizer breaks down protein and that's what wasp venom is.
