The only thing you have to fear is illegal criminals being deported. And that’s something you should applaud, not fear. I’ll say it again, this government does not have the bandwidth to perform what you’re describing.
I like discussion. After all, that’s what we are all here for. However, I implore you to ‘table’ your TDS, and ‘see what happens’. BTW, I applaud you for at least admitting you have that. Most don’t.
Exactly this is a cost that is compounded daily with interest. First of all 11 million is a conservative as hell estimate and #2 that's 33 million in 3 years 10% of the population. Secondly, these programs are being used as money grabs for corporations and politicians alike
The Governor of Massachusetts is embroiled in a couple of suspected immigration scandals on housing costs and possibly kickbacks for the contract of said costs.
I would be much more gracious about immigration totals if TPTB took care of all American families already in need. Our veterans our elderly.
Yay, your county has the resources political wherewithal, and administrative skills to handle the situation not all states or counties can. Not every state will spend 1 billion dollars of funds at whatever equivalency per capita to house and financially support immigrants as Massachusetts did in 2024.
San Diego has Veterans Village of San Diego and other excellent programs for the disadvantaged the vast majority of states do not. ie Mississippi etc veterans get less help than California veterans. They don't have the tax revenue for the basics in lots of counties in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) has served all veterans since 1981 and is dedicated to "Leave No One Behind." With five locations throughout San Diego County, VVSD is the only program of its kind in the United States and is nationally recognized as the leader in serving homeless military veterans.
