There are lots of rich donators to both political parties that were associated with Epstein.  Along with some politicians themselves.  There are also some rich people who are donating majorly to good charities that were associated with Epstein.  Trump is protecting a lot of people who are beneficial to society, and maybe if these people are a little fearful of getting caught, they will not do that kind of stuff again.  But if someone like Gates or another big contributor has their name dragged through the mud, I can see they may just take their money and move somewhere else instead of trying to do good for those in need.

Be careful of how you judge people by their past, just because they did wrong twenty years ago does not mean they are now bad people.  The last deer I shot was twenty years ago, now the wife and I feed the does and fawns and even some bucks here with foods that are beneficial for their health...except once in a while I do give them a cookie...and I have repaid my debt to the deer now.  So should the deer judge me because I shot one twenty five years ago when we have been spending thirty bucks a month on food for them for over twenty years?

If someone has changed for a long time, do not judge that they are still bad people anymore.  I have known women that are in their twenties, and even one in her thirties that looked like sixteen years old.  How was everyone who went to Epsteins Island supposed to know how old the girls were there.  I also have known girls fifteen years old that looked like girls in their twenties.   There seems to be way more pedophiles around these days than there used to be.

Are you saying that people who've raped women or committed crimes against minors should be forgiven because they are rich and "beneficial to society"?

What if they were redacted by the last administration? How do we know we are looking at legit files?

The thickest boot sucking irony here is the fact that the democrats have been cherry picking and redacting previously unredacted files trying to slime Trump.

If everything that was recorded and written and speculated about Epstein was printed, then we could all read everything and draw our own conclusions.  I seriously doubt that will ever happen.   I think there is good reason to protect the victims.

Did they have evidence that Epstein had commited new offenses after his 2008 conviction?

The 2008 conviction had identified 36 girls who were being, or had been, abused. Were any of them the same girls as the ones upon whom the recent arrest was based (of course, victim name suppression prevents us from knowing this)?

And, if there was crossover between the victims from one case to another, wouldn't that cause the prosecution legal issues due to double-jeapoardy rules?

Could Epstein have been killed because he had compromising evidence and the court case against him would also give him the perfect public platform to release and reinforce the validity of his compromising evidence?

Not to mention that the case itself may not have been able to continue for technical legal reasons.

Maybe I am the simple minded but... Doesn't anyone here thinks that if any of trump adversaries had something against him as evidence/proof that he was doing some nasty underage abuse with the epstein dude, they would have taken him down long time ago with this? Instead they settled with "convicted felon" because why? Some private finances fuckery?? And he still won the elections by a landslide. One thinks that they would use this epstein shit to take him down waaay before he becomes the president calling all the shots and exposing the hypocrisy and greed of the respected members of the political swamp?
Maybe our fellow DI members non partisan to trump are just waiting for the epstein thing to explode on him but, shouldn't this happen already? Long time ago?

Perhaps Trump's opponents are afraid they would be arrested on questionable charges and then summarily executed. It's called being 'Epsteined'.

Perhaps Trump is just a little darker and more evil than his carefully constructed public image portrays?

I mean, after the details about the 'White House Plumbers' who whitewashed Nixon's image, became public knowledge, how could anyone assume that the same purging of anything 'bad' from Trump's past hasn't been running for years - and they wouldn't make the same mistakes twice.

We've just had another release of images related to Jeffrey Epstein.

This latest drop has been made by the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, which obtained them from the Epstein estate.

Redactions have been made before their release.

It all comes ahead of the US government's deadline to share all of its material by tomorrow.

It depends on what is redacted.
If it's the names of the victims or clues to who they are, then that's appropriate.

Actually most victims have said their fine with their names being released, they just want this over. I mean do you realize what the girl raped by Alan Dershowitz had to go through.
