How To Abstract Paint…
#1
I will walk you through an abstract painting I did last night.

Abstract art is a form of art that does not attempt to represent external reality.

Acrylic paint used. Blue, White, Purple, Green, Yellow and Black. A little glow in the dark Blue and White.

[Image: IMG_2817.jpeg]Use chalk and draw a horizon line. Fill in the sky with black. Mix blue and white for a background.  Use chalk and draw a pathway.

Next, fill in your path with black mixed with white. On the sides make grass. Green with a little white. Make x’s with the brush and fill them in using side to side motions.

Here are your paint colors. I use 6 brushes. Thick to thin. Keep rinsing  brushes in water and clean them with a rag.

Take chalk, draw buildings in the background. Make sure your paint is kind of dry. Hairdryers work well. Draw in a moon.

Start to fill in the buildings use any  colors. Use up and down strokes. Make a mess, it’s ok.

Start making flowers all around by mixing colors and keep filling in the buildings, fill in your moon. Use red yellow and white for an orange tint.

Keep adding, add flowers, add light poles. Flick white paint to make stars. This is abstract art so make a mess and have fun. Sign your name…

Art like this looks better at a distance…
If you mess up just dry your mess up and paint over it. No one will know.

Perhaps more impressionistic?

I don't know the right names, my sister (a professional artist) is the specialist, I just go by my feelings. Smile

Big bold brushstrokes mate.

As always, rather impressive.  Thumbup
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

What do you think of this pic Quantum12? Could it be considered abstract? Abstraction within reality? Reality is abstract?

"It's not AI. It's not a painting. It is the most detailed image of a human cell to date, obtained by radiography, nuclear magnetic resonance and cryoelectron microscopy."

The human body is the most amazing art. To paint the above would take a long time. To answer your question above. Impressionism is more objective.

Thank you, yes big strokes. The painting only took 1.5 hours. The top and some other parts are backlight friendly. My backlight died or I would have taken a photo.
