Homeless are living with a new horror. Strange white or black vans room the street offering supposed help but often are trafficker, scammers, or something in which no trace is found again.
Dangerous Drugs and poisonous food and water are reported being given to homeless people in mass. Substances which cause extreme mental distress appear to be in circulation in the homeless population.

Yeah that's been around for at least a decade. It's called the new meth, AKA P2P meth, it's coming across the border by the truck load. It's dirt cheap, and it drives people insane.

Unfortunately, things like that have been happening to the homeless as long as i can remember.
Another one would be the number of over-privileged drunken psychotic @rseholes who somehow think it's funny to set fire to the poor sods whilst asleep.
Yes, that's a thing, as unfortunate as the case may be.
What a fecking world we live in.

I wonder which government agency actually monitors and reports citizens falling out of the 'standard' socioeconomic modeling...
Do they even attempt to help... or just wait for them to die or disappear?
Or would that be something the "political" game won't touch?
...clearly they don't matter... since they hold no currency, no property, and are 'superfluous' to their reality.
Millions missing, mostly homeless...
We have money for ballrooms, and museums, and all manner of 'cultural' expression... save valuing humans who are in need... unless the media proclaims "we" 'care.'

I think that was attributed to Boris Johnson at one point.
Although he vehemently denied the claim.

I would not put it past him or his ilk, put it that way.

I wonder if there is organized identity-theft.
It used to be that if you wanted to make money off homeless people, you would just disappear them and harvest their organs.
But now, there is more real value in their identity: social security benefits, food assistance, public housing, SSNs for illegals, etc. All there for the "harvesting" if you have an organized crime machine poised to take advantage of it.
Perhaps?

That would be the Bullingdon Club @ Oxford Uni. Taking it's name from an Oxforshire village, club members are all toffs, many old Etonians.

I expect there is "organized" abuse herein.
Without limitless profit, abusive exploitation would not surface. The stream of thrown-away humans is endless... and will remains so until any people can be free to pursue peace...
I have a nasty feeling when it all comes crashing down... it will be so ugly as to defy understanding...
It's like a moral "too big to fail" scenario...
We don't really know anything about these people... except what the media tells us.
Our government "uses" media (in the classic sense AND "social") as a tool.... not only to monitor...
but to influence... and that industry is already 'too big to fail' too.

I think the "crashing" has already happened, globally. We can all see it. Entropy. Everything spiraling down. At first just a few things -- maybe some food product that you always counted on and didn't even consider that it might someday not be available. Well, today is the day, isn't it? Today you can't get that thing, and perhaps a month from now, you will consider it a frightening loss. For me, it is cottage cheese. It doesn't frighten me that we can't get it anymore, but I register it in the line item of Entropy. Last month it was chili powder. No biggie. We'll survive. Just an indicator of the way of things.
I talk to my people in the UK. They feel it too. It is also apparaent in the infrastructure that is not being maintained, and the governmental systems that are more clunky now than in the past; there is more of an emphasis to work with the government online, but much more of a difficulty -- in general -- is noticed.
