I see from today Trump "TACO'd" and is going to long term lease a military base instead of turning GREENLAND (not Iceland!) American.

He's also climbed down from the tariff threats he made against European leaders who supported Greenland's sovereignty.

The US still has elections every two years.  Everything from city to federal positions.  The presidential election every four years.

When’s the last time Russia or China has had a fair and honest election.

Where Europe continued to buy energy off Putin when it was convenient even when the writing was on the wall.

Look at you, because of TDS you can’t accept that it’s better for the west to develop new sources of rare earth minerals so the west isn’t dependent on the authoritarian CCP that is weaponizing trade.

Having elections doesn't mean policies are smart or immune to criticism.

Europe buying Russian energy was a clear strategic mistake.

I think that's plainly evident in hindsight. 

But that doesn't justify every reaction since.

Wanting less dependence on China is hardly controversial.

And pretending that criticism equals "TDS" is just name-calling.

You can support domestic rare earths and still question how, where, and at what cost they're developed.

I have no idea what tech they have but I bet they what they need to get the job done. You may have doubts but I don't the golden dome will mostly use missiles from what I understand but if they have lasers they want to use with it fine and I do understand how light refracts but I don't think these laser are the same as pen pointers so I understand your doubts but if they say they are going to place any there and that they will work you can probably put money on that bet.

Government is a necessary evil and I think that is acknowledged by conservatives in the USA.  Where the communist party and specifically the CCP the “religion” is the state.  I rather live under the rule of the USA.  I enjoy being relatively free of CCP rule.  Accept where the CCP weaponizes trade, where the west has trapped itself being dependent on China(added in the false hope trade would wake the Chinese people up to more freedoms), and even cases of CCP secret police infiltrating the US to harass Chinese citizens living in the USA.

Greenland is part of limiting the influence of the CCP concerning the west and what it stands for.

That was probably the goal from the get go. This how he negotiates. I know you think he's dictator but as many have said you just don't understand how he works.

I was not the one who introduced the "increasing advancements in laser based air defense" to the equation.

I simply highlighted the shortcomings of using such a weapons system in Greenland.

Where weather and atmospheric conditions are going to be a factor. 

The bottom line is atmosphere strongly favours conventional projectiles.

Physics is just physics.

He's not a negotiator, he's more like a child who demands that 'thing' in the shop, then screams and stamps his feet to get as many people to look at him as he can.

Then the parents offer him a misdirection and tell him "we thought you were a good boy?" with him saying "I'm the best good boy!". Then he's back to all smiles.
