Again, the US already has access to rare earth minerals. 

The main dependency is processing, not mining.

Where China dominates refining them.

Not because of resource scarcity.

But due to decades of lower costs.

And pretty much no environmental rules.

The problem with laser-based defense is the atmosphere.

And turbulent Arctic weather would severely limit reliability.

Greenland is certainly not the best choice to field such weaponry.

You can support US and NATO defense improvements without assuming the only alternative is "rolling over" for China or Russia.

It's possible to want a strong defense, fair trade, and accountability at the same time.

The US still has elections every two years.  Everything from city to federal positions.  The presidential election every four years.

When’s the last time Russia or China has had a fair and honest election.
