Greenland USA
At least we agree it's a legal issue and not an ethical one, so yes I will cover the legal aspects and be done with this security risk and financial burden.

I hope not.

As it didn't work out so well for Napoleon or Adolf Hitler.

Can't see why it would be any different for Trump.

Are both scenarios based in lack of financial security and other options? Or the lack of finding other options?

It does seem that Trump doesn't understand that Denmark and so Greenland fall under NATO, and all that entails. His perthitic attempts at fear mongering about Russia and China attempting to invade are just the senile paranoia of an unstable idiot.

NATO...
Quote:As Greenland (and the Faroe Islands) is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, it does not have independent membership of NATO. As part of the Danish Kingdom, Greenland is by default covered by the North Atlantic Treaty since Denmark joined in 1949. Upon its entry, Denmark negotiated some military limitations which included no bases, no nuclear warheads and no Allied military activity on Danish territory. This was implemented from 1953, with the exception of Greenland, where a permanent peacetime stationing of American forces was accepted. It was discovered later that the Americans had a nuclear presence during the Cold War in Greenland that was tacitly consented by the Danish government. These agreements were in part due to the controversial Article X of the Greenlandic treaty signed during World War II by Ambassador Henrik Kauffman, who represented the free and independent Denmark while the country was occupied.

Anyone here supporting Trumps' attempts at taking Greenland are hypocrites', America fought for it's freedom and independence from a tyrant, and to be able to make their own decisions with out un-elected leader making demands of it's people. Now, they want to become that tyrant and force their will on another independent nation.
If Trump does attempt to take Greenland. it' will be no different than Putin and his invasion of Ukraine.

Over 85% of Greenlanders have said NO to Trumps demands...
Link.
Quote:
An overwhelming 85% of Greenland's residents have rejected President Donald Trump's push to bring the Arctic island under U.S. control, according to a new poll.
Trump, who returned to the White House earlier in the month, has expressed renewed interest in acquiring Greenland due to its vast untapped natural resources and strategic location.
However, a new poll published Wednesday revealed that Greenlanders have made it clear they do not want to become Americans, Barron's reported.

And now old Dozzy Don has threatened Europe with increased tariffs if they help Greenland resist his demands. Which is turning the western world against the US and into the arms of a waiting China,  which will only ever help push the US into recession, as more and more countries turn away from wanting to trade with America.

Europe is so 1600s

To many people, not enough resources

Besides, why invade Europe when you can partner with countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Arctic?  and everybody profits

actually it would sort of work better as an analogy for the us helping save the uk from itself

the eu could play the role of the evil homeowners association
"besides why invade Europe when you can partner with countries in Africa, Asia, Arabia, and the Arctic? ..."
Why invade Europe when you can just invade Greenland? Be a lot easier, unless you just invaded Denmark.

It's the other way around, Europe and the UK would be saving the American people from an evil tyrant who wants to destroy all of America's closest allies.
