This thread is about Greenlanders choosing the US or Denmark.
The relevation of Denmark’s recent genocide campaign against Greenlanders is definitely a factor in the choice to the Greenlanders.
Whitewashing it and trying to interject some other genocide in another county hundreds of year ago really doesn’t factor into Greenlanders decision.
It makes some of you all warm and fuzzy, but so does hair dye and nose piercings.

What you're just not seeing is it's not about morality bragging rights.

The US' actions, if true, were more morally reprehensible because the US certainly had the money to cope with its native population without sterilizing some of them.  

Denmark could not have credibly stepped in and said "the US is not managing its people so we want to buy the place and step in or establish an economic partnership that lets them pay for policing a few reservations.  It would prevent the Soviets and Chicoms from taking over."

I assumed the sterilizations were a sign of some degree of desperation but there's a chance national pride and perhaps racism played a role.

However, running an insular colony on too-tight-a-budget because of Viking pride is still conducive to not adequately patrolling Greenland against Chinese and Russian encroachment.  

If they started taking a huge chunk of Greenland, would the US and NATO find the political will to go to war?  Hitler said that if the French had mobilized when the Germans remilitarized the Rhineland, the Germans would have had to flee with their tails between their legs.  

It could be that insular pride could let the Russians and Chinese gain too big a toehold to be easily expelled and NATO might not find the political will to go to war.  

The notion of insular, national pride also suggests the awful possibility of backdoor dealings with the Chinese and Russians because secrecy may be paramount.

If you're so damn concerned about RUSSIA and CHINA taking Greenland and taking over, why the hell do you support actions that will dissolve the NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION?
