Plus, I think when you learn a 2nd or 3rd language as an adult it forces out the America talk.
And though that's all I really have to say, you've taught me that long rambling responses are what I should use responding to you. like really, unnecessarily long ones that make your eyes gloss over.
So, did you know economic gurus are Milton Friedman and Ayn Rand?
Did you know i score a 4.1 on the X axis of that political quiz. I mean, Im not full on "Ayn Rand," but theres certainly been enough objectivity fountainheads in my life...
* you never know, I could actually NOT support even collective bargaining and pension/healthcare plans. All my liberal so far has been the social ones.
You dont see me complaining Trump cut off the illegals free emergency housing coverage. Just that he assumes they are welfare burdens and gets rid of them regardless how few actually take handouts.
Do I bitch that in 12 days 3.5 million Californians get kicked off MediCal? Because if anything 14 million of 39.5 million might be an absurdly liberal expense for me.
Honestly, I think they could limit socialized medicine programs to the elderly, disabled, and vets. And for everyone else, offer tax rebates for self pay on the back end if uninsured abd it happens. Problem solved. Government still small.
But even THAT makes me contrast with other neoliberals.
I am even all for a small fiscally conservative government and I have now problem cutting funding to unnecessary programs. The siphoning of unnecessary spending is the bureaucracy of red tape. The pre-studies. The impact studies. The bullshit steps of greased hands and Vogon menial tasks.
But that's fiscal, not social..
Socially i say, "Good, illegals dont need handouts for being illegal. But do you really have to assume they are "dole bludgers" and give them the toss with such angry authority?
Like I wont even bother to get into that. Because fiscal conservative cant be separated from social conservative to the brainwashed any way.. like they must walk together.
Like Opposition of ICE means you MUST support the welfare prograns of emergency shelter and healthcare too.
And did you know I am so capitalist I am currently getting pissed at Trump's tariffs of leverage and protectionist isolation. Free market it is not.
Because now alot of my clothing and shoes have those Southeast Asia tariffs.
It was sure nice when these apparel companies could outsource to Cambodian slave labor and get me my turtleneck for $40 instead of this $70 that was supposed to make my life greater and easier.
But "America First" apparently means isolationism and anti free trade tariffs that raise costs primarily for the working classes. Im all for them getting to make more money in outsourcing. Im not for hamstrings them with protectionism to renationalize production and drive of competitive domestic costs because theres money to be had.
Is that long and rambling enough? I think it is.
What the hell you goin' on about, *Mod. snip*?

Trump wants everybody to be uncomfortable and guessing.
Admittedly, not the Presidential norm, but we live in unusual times
and Trump knows a Sino/Russian-dominated Arctic basin is not ideal for the free world.
The "presidential norm" has gotten us nowhere in the past decades.

That's the same as Venezuela. It wasn't really about drugs, it was about preventing China, Russia and Iran from obtaining a foothold in the Western Hemisphere, whether that be territorial or economic.

Too little, too late.
Also, NATO (which includes the USA as a member) and the US bases already there, ensure those resources and the rights of Greenland to exist as a sovereign country will be available.
I'm not sure that the US 'owning' Greenland is in the interests of the rest of the Western Hemisphere (including Greenland itself).
Definitely the rest of the Western Hemisphere sees it as only to the advantage of an increasingly isolationist and trade blockaded USA, and that the rest of the Western Hemisphere will not ultimately have reasonable access to, or trade in, Greenland's mineral resources.

I don't consider illegal alien rapists, murderers, child traffickers "nice and good".

I had no idea...

Greenlanders speak out against Danish rule after decades of forced sterilization, poor living conditions: 'They stole our future' NUUK, Greenland — Native Greenlander Amarok Peterson was 27 years old when she learned the gut-wrenching truth about why she couldn’t have children — and that Denmark was to blame.
At 13, she became one of thousands of Greenlandic girls subjected to forced sterilization by Danish doctors who implanted an IUD in her womb without her knowledge. ... Plagued with problems after the IUD, she had repeated surgeries for unexplained pain. It wasn’t until years later that doctors informed her that her fallopian tubes had been removed in one of the operations in the early 2000s. While the US in centuries past is far from innocent in its treatment of native populations, and while the sterilizations are a genuine human rights tragedy, there is another issue.
The quite recent actions against native Greenlanders suggests Denmark may simply not have the resources to cope with the place, much less develop and defend it.
Denmark may well be in secret agreement. Their recent moves to "defend" the place may simply be an indication of their resolve to not give it away for nothing.
