So, how does Trump sell this.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwyg1jg8xkmo

Billions of dollars in minerals just East of the continent, screw a countries sovereignty, it’s people, it has oodles of minerals inc gold and oil and needs milking.
Blame drugs, not this time, it’s security
Trump wants a Nobel but looks like he wants more
So soon after suffering in military expenditure in Ukraine, military supplies must be a bit shallow, juggle Ukraine and now Venezuela and what may or may not happen there

So, who has a good reason for USA to invade?
Make me believe

Didnt take long for Trump to action Venezuela

“Its rich deposits of natural resources, including oil, gas and rare earth minerals, make it even more strategically important, especially as China has leveraged its domination of the rare earth industry to exert pressure on the US. These rare earth minerals are increasingly crucial to the global economy since they are required to manufacture everything from electric cars and wind turbines to military equipment”

well i imagine there have been "educational" efforts on the ground there for a while now

have they gotten across to the 80% of the population that is non-european native?

maybe trump should back off with the bluster and they can have a plebiscite or something

when they're ready for it of course

it is in their national charter that they can declare independence with one and do what they want, after all

does europe have a problem with that?

Greenland, USA.    Okay.
Better than Greenland, Russia or Greenland, China.
Everyone wants Greenland and
Greenland can't protect itself so it needs a big brother.

It's kind of like the world is one big prison and Greenland is
the skinny little guy who needs to hook up with one of the
big guys in the prison yard otherwise he'll be shanked and
killed off.   It would be better for them to hook up with America.

It's up to them, of course.   The people of Greenland overwhelmingly
want no part of Denmark or anyone else to run them.   But if they
want to survive the reality is they may have no choice.

Probably their leader has warrants and a bounty?

Seem to the ploy these days for American aggression.

Not sure.

And feel free to check me on this, but word has it NATO would take this as an affront.

I'd prefer we do it the old fashioned way.

Roll up with a truck load of cash and gold and tell them we want to be their exclusive customer. In the long run it's cheaper and everybody's happy. They make shit tons of money, we get rare minerals, everybody has a nice plate of Momma's ragu and fugetaboutit

Okay, I’ll play.

If this applies to Greenland, why not the rest of the Western world?

I mean couldn’t they all use a little more American “influence”.

I think Europe is gonna need a pocket to hold here pretty soon anyway.

Basically saving the environment means invading other countries through force or bribes because rare earths minerals were not even a big deal all that long ago, until they were needed for EV’s “smart phones” and such. We’re all being pushed to go green and yet all it really means is more taxes and less freedom.

“More taxes and less freedom and screw the health of our planet and its people and all other life forms.”

Meanwhile be a good consumer and buy this shiny crap with built-in planned obsolescence all while your buying power tanks and we go to war to secure these raw materials against other markets, er um, nations.

There ya go.

The problem being Greenland isn't a "skinny little guy."

It's a self-governing territory with treaties, allies, and international law.

And not everywhere else on the globe is like the American prison system.

America, Russia, or China can't just "claim" Greenland like it's a prison bit@h.

Wanting access isn't the same as imminent invasion.

The idea that Greenland must choose a single "big brother" ignores the boring reality that it's a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark.

Trump will be wanting the poor Greenlanders to hold his turned-out pocket lining next ffs.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."
