Gold and Silver advice
#1
So I found myself on the western coast of aust and decided to go to the mint.
some AI facts about the mint:

"The Perth Mint, established in 1899, is Australia's oldest operating mint and the world's only government-owned and guaranteed precious metals enterprise. It functions as a global leader in refining, manufacturing, and selling gold, silver, and platinum products. "

I made the decision to buy $5k of XRP, GOLD and Silver. Not for a quick buck but as a long term bury in a safe in my backyard contingency.

The mint was closed for the day but I have a 9am slot tmrw.

Attached are the current prices.. i understand the markets sharply gone up recently. I feel however we are on the brink and a day might come that cash eifher isnt available or worth anywhere near its value

Any advice or criticism is sought before my 9am meet tmrw.

I gave my nephew 3 half-oz gold coins when he was a teenager. I think they were worth around $400USD each at the time.

He eventually sold them sometime in his twenties, of course.

But I knew that going in. That was the plan. The real gift was the lesson of regret, when he looked back 10 years after selling them and thought about all the money it cost him, selling for what he "had to have" at the moment.

Teaching that a penny saved, can be several pennies earned.

Anyway, other than that mean-but-kind trick, the only advice I would possibly think to give is that 1/10 oz coins are really neat, and perhaps a more reasonable unit than 1 oz coins, if you ever actually have to barter them.

Gold/Silver is one of the few investments I have that I'm comfortable with.

I had a similar experience to what Budgie described.  When I was around 17 or 18 my father gave each of his sons a roll of silver dollar coins with a simple rule on what we did with them.  He said something like "this is to teach you about value.  The value of each coin is XX (I forget the amount) and the challenge is to use one or many for something that is worth more, knowing that the price of these will only increase over time".
I was a dumb kid, didn't care about finanicial responsibility and hocked my coins when a creditor was threatening to repo my 1984 Pontiac Fiero, lmao

I was at Speedway gas station two weeks ago. I went in and paid cash. Their auto change machine gave me a 1948 quarter. I could tell it was sliver right away from the sound. I asked the kid if I could exchange dollars for quarters from his auto drop machine, 8$ were silver. He looked around 18.

I told him if he finds 1964 quarters or earlier to buy them. They are worth a lot. He had no clue. He said someone paid for gas with two rolls of quarters. That is why I got them.
Be kind to everyone!

if you have a backyard with trees you can pick two trees and stretch a rope between them and measure the halfway point and bury them in a coffee can there one foot deep

be sure to remember what trees or mark them in some way!
