GTA 6 delayed

As part of Take-Two's earnings report today, the company confirmed that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed and is now coming November 19, 2026. That is a delay of 5 months and 24 days from its previously scheduled May 26, 2026 release date.

"We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve," Rockstar said.

On the flip side, GTA 6's latest delay means I will put the physical copy of that game on my Christmas 2026 list.

They are obviously copying the "Star Citizen" playbook.

I'm surprised they are not selling individual digital cars yet to gullible fools willing to part with their dosh.

I’m not fussed about it, I played enough gta5 to last a lifetime of gta shenanigans. It wasn’t my fault the game just kept giving, at least with the user created races and the extra dimension the decent mods brought to the game in making those events. I emphasise decent because 50% or more of them were utter bastards and control freaks. 

Besides by Nov 26 I expect to be a semi pro sim racer competing against the best at the international level on GT7 ha! Well nothing wrong with ambition and setting goals…

I still play GTA V now and again.

It was/is a masterpiece.

It's still delightful eye candy imho.

I’ve been rocking a release day XboxOne since well…release day, and it’s still working just fine, especially with cloud gaming nowadays. 

Rockstar pushing this thing back again just gives me more time to save for the Xbox420

I remember GTA V coming out on the Xbox 360 back in 2012

It was a huge deal at the time because it offered a massive interactive open world.

2 DVDs i seem to recall, install, and play disc.

That seems like a good plan. I was considering getting a PS5 next year for GTA6, but I might just wait for the next gen.

This was off-topic in another thread, but I think it bears repeating here because it is the most important news in the world.

Now GTA6 physical copies may not be on the shelf until January 2027.

They still say the downloaded version will be available before Christmas, but we'll see.

We are getting more and more information that the box version will not be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks. We receive conflicting reports: some say that the physical release will appear 3-4 weeks after the digital premiere, while others say that this will not happen before the beginning of 2027. More information will be available in mid-February.
