We're already behind the rest of the first world nations ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK62576/) and maternal mortality rate is high as well. More women die in childbirth in the United States than in most European countries (https://www.commonwealthfund.org/publica...-countries)
Maternal mortality among non-Caucasians is high in red states and Texas is worst of all (gee, thanks, Gubn'r Goodhair) https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-...e-by-state
It will get higher still.
Not a good time to be a woman of childbearing age in the US.
I'm absolutely terrified of child birth and that's one of the reasons. The beauty never overode the fear of the expected horrid pain and discomfort.
And now I'm over 40 and the kid would have autism for sure, and maybe even down's syndrome. Even though the ticking bio clock has caused some reconsideration and weird behavior with pets.
I wasn't thinking about maternal fatalities specifically but I'm definitely thinking of funding for reproductive care. Annuals are at planned parenthood too. Almost half of all women need financial aid with their care. Not every woman can afford the costs of even the PAP and birth control, if taken. And Trump threatens the double edge sword of eliminating both the ACA and funding for Planned Parenthood and reproductive care. Who does way more than abortion procedures, which is only 3% of their visits, according to them.
It's gonna be on the state to help on healthcare appears. It doesn't surprise me that Texas has the highest occurance for those state reasons.
And because RFK Jr. is insane The CDC's New website will have a section explaining how to use radium in place of contraception.
