@ UB   I actually have noticed that!  It really is weird.  I started keeping a few just because of the price of a couple of items we buy regularly seemed to be going up a couple times in like 6months, so I wanted to see if I was right.

Olive oil really is insane now.  And for comparison, we were in Portugal, an olive oil producing country, and because of EU/globalist policies, regardless of Portuguese wage, the olive oil there was about 15 to 20 euros a bottle for the liter, which is basically the same as here in a Western US state. Totally nuts.

Very true! I just paid almost $30 for a litre of Bragg EVO, which I consider mid-grade. Lots of fake and impure olive oil on the market now, too. And what is up with the bottle design? They're genius at making a large-looking bottle elegantly hold only about 300ml or so. And don't buy California olive oil, there may be some decent stuff but most of it is only useful for stopping cast iron from rusting.

In the UK, we personally spend between £100 and £130 per week for a family of 3. 

Equivalent of 8-10 hours worked at minimum wage.

We don't eat meat every day, we do cook everything from scratch, we do at least one 'double' meal per week that will last us 2 days.

Chicken and pork used to be the cheap meats. Now if you want a chicken that is free range and not full of hormones, and has real flavour ,its like $18 per bird!

So far Walmart notes that the price hikes are indeed affecting the lower and middle income customers and the pressure from tariffs is not yet fully realized.

Ah, you were in the "cruise ship bubble", probably. They know what their customers will pay. But also there are economic theories why locally produced products that ship world-wide paradoxically end up higher in price in markets the closer you get to their origin. Economics is weird.

I was on the bubble of the cruise ship world. In Ketchikan I found a local crab place. I don’t think it was local because the prices were insane. I would not even eat there!

Talk about trickle down this is from a local food stand.  Who in their right mind is going to pay $1.00 for a tomato
