Australia Post stops package deliveries to the US

Australia Post’s move echoes similar stoppages around the world by the UK’s Royal Mail, France’s La Poste, Germany’s Deutsche Post, Spain’s Correos, Italy’s Poste Italiene, Austria’s Österreichische Post, DHL, and others.

As Trumps tariffs kick in, it is bringing along a whole lot of new regulatory requirements  In the past, any parcels under $800 USD got a clear pass through. Now only letters, documents and gifts under $100 USD get to go through.

The minimum tariff is $80 USD per item from Australia, going up to a minimum of $200 USD for some other countries.

It is creating a lot of processing difficulties at this time getting all the infrastructure in place. Then got the economic chunk as well that will impact a lot of trade. This is part of the plan to get America more self resilient. How will it go long term when all the infrastructure is in place, will other nations pick up similar policies?

I liked the postal service, when they delivered at 7am, now you are lucky to see a delivery before 3pm.

And that's not even the second post, but the first!

I mean, it's a great service, loved and respected across the globe.

But the digital age and package delivery services are kind of making it obsolete.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

Shipping internationally is our kryptonite; it costs so much that it's not worth it to the end retailer, whereas domestically, we are still low to mid-price range
