A lucky find in the bestiary! "Book of Shadows" I wonder what is inside? Who left it here?

it's some kind if elfish, I can not read it.

"Sylvanthus" sounds elfish to me.  It appears to be a manual, there is what looks like ingredients and rituals in these pages.

Alright! I think I got this figured out. There is what looks like seals that must be for protection. Some of these bugs and other ingredients looks like things in the garden or close enough. I have an idea.
