And if you still have a black and white TV, then your bill is a lot cheaper, but rises from £57 annually to £58.50. These are all the programmes you can watch legally if you don't have a licence:TV licences cost the same for homes and businesses. And if you live in a shared houeshold then you still need your own licence if you have separate tenancy agreeements and watch TV in your own room. This is the same for students.

The Government states: "You can be fined up to £1,000 if you watch or record live TV without a TV Licence." They know if you are covered through their national database.
