'BREXIT IS OVER' Sir Keir Starmer urges Europe to move away from reliance on US for security as he argues for closer ties with Brussels

PM SIR Keir Starmer will say the days of Brexit Britain are over — as he calls for closer military ties with Europe.

He will today argue “there is no British security without Europe” as he urges greater cooperation with Brussels to build a stronger Nato alliance amid fickle US support.

Sir Keir will insist Europe must move away from its overdependence on America and the Special Relationship.

But he is set to trigger a backlash by declaring an inward-looking Brexit Britain would be a “surrender” amid the looming threat from Russia.

The PM is rubbing shoulders with around 50 world leaders this weekend at a Munich security summit.

And he is set to say: “We are not the Britain of the Brexit years anymore. Because we know that, in dangerous times, we would not take control by turning inward — we would surrender it. There is no British security without Europe, and no European security without Britain.”

His comments come just weeks after US President Donald Trump threatened Nato allies with tariffs if they did not let him acquire alliance member Greenland.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves this week said closer EU integration was the “biggest prize” to boost growth.

And the PM last month said the UK should move towards more alignment with EU markets if it was in the national interest.

Sir Keir will insist that America will remain an indispensable ally, but will pinpoint Europe’s failings on making the most of its own defence capabilities and call to “turbocharge” military production.

It is nice of him to insist that America will remain an 'indispensable ally'—everyone likes to feel wanted—but is that what's going to happen? Does the USA consider the UK to be 'indispensable' at this point? After all, crypto is poised to break the shackles of the City. And will the EU let the UK un-Brexit? How will that play out?

Yes, it's price is back where it was about 14 month ago, about £50K. Double what it was 5 years ago. 100 times what it was 10 years ago.

But remember that absolute value is also a measure of evolving scarcity and change. If the GBP is strong against Bitcoin, well, so are gold Reichsmark right now.

Of more interest is the ability of financial centres to move markets. In particular, I find the 23-hour global markets worth watching. One can see the trading patterns and directions change as various local markets open/close around the world. Recently, the action from London has been able to overpower the Asian markets when in opposition, but as the sun sets on London and rises in New York, the American market is able to reset in any direction it wants, it seems. Movement really only sticks at the end of the day when they say it should.

But as you may know, reliance on predictability and old patterns is a losing formula to follow. Try it, and the system auto-generates yet another layer of obfuscation and deception. Thus the movement towards new fundamentals and, most importantly, their anchors external to legacy systems. A change in sociopolitical dynamic that many old fogeys are missing.

Still not a fan of the crypto, but it's interesting to see the roadmap that's being painted. Really I doubt the summit will go into overt detail about this, but it's the direct underpinnings determining what the EU can rely on for physical security guarantees. The plausibility of them stems directly from consideration of exactly which old dynamics are still valid.

AOC showed up, pretending to be presidential since she is obviously going to run for POTUS or VPOTUS in 2028 (God help us all).   While in Germany, home to Hitler and the Holocaust against the Jews, She launched into falsely accusing Israel of genocide against the so called 'Palestinians'.   That's really really dumb.  And that's blood libel.

It's just what im hearing.

But to be honest, crypto, is not something I know much about.

I mean i understand that money is not really backed by anything, the way it used to be backed by gold or silver.

And now it's really all about trust structured by institutions.

But crypto seems like a pyramid scheme to me.
