Anyone else ever go to or gone to an estate sale?
There was one near me yesterday so I stopped by. Lots of people there with cars parked at least 2 blocks or so.
I’ve only been to a few because I always get an weird vibe. I love antique shops and yes, I know that probably 90% of their stuff comes from estate sales but going into someone’s former house is a bit odd. It certainly, at least for me, puts life in perspective.
Along with furniture and tons of glassware and such, there was a good amount of books including several Bibles so I looked to see if there was a reference bible or book but didn’t find one. I did find a pretty small bible but didn’t buy it. It had a white vinyl zipper case and someone had bought it in 1946. It had several verses written in some blank pages in the front.
I just knew that the lady who lived there was in a much better place and that none of the items left behind are even a thought for her now.
Im going to church in a bit and might stop back by and see if the little bible is still there. If it is, I’ll probably buy it.
