I may have been guilty of doing this myself, but I always try to find an alternative point of view and then adapt my beliefs upon any new information I may have learned.
What really bugs me though, is that some people will use their feelings and completely embrace ignorance as reality hurts their feelings. I've had people ask me my opinion, then completely shut me down as it doesn't mesh with their belief or may be slightly uncomfortable. Like what is the point of asking me then if you're just going to reject whatever I have to say in order to stay comfortable in your own little bubble?
It irks me beyond belief.
That is all, just needed to get it off my chest!
And I'm gone.... Like a crack in the past....

Hey Mr. Aviation Flying Guy
I actually think emotions and feelings-based decisions are sometimes valid. Who wants a society of pod people and robot people (besides TPTB?)
Humans are emotional creatures and behave more emotionally than rationally sometimes. I am a passionate swarthy guy myself. I also think irrational intuition has a lot of merit.
But what emotions DO NOT get to do is override facts, proofs, and written law. If one acts purely emotional ALL THE TIME then they can't be reasoned with and good luck with that.
And the obvious--not everyone seeks the truth, they just want affirmation of their beliefs. Once you don't do that for them, they'll spit on ya.

1. You're not providing any data to back up your opinion
2. No, those sources are obviously biased
3. Never mind that, I'm asking what you think
4. Stop parroting talking points
5. Typical shill. I'm done here.

I typically involuntarily shut down or dissociate during extreme stressful events where I cannot help fix or provide a solution.
I am ignorant in those situations, with no prior experience or training, so my brain will literally shut off, leaving me stunned.
No sir, I don't like it.

This began, most recognizably, with the rejection of politically-oriented thinking as essentially a hopeless waste of intellectual effort." ~ John Forbes Nash

I think those people are not asking for an opinion but looking for other people to help support their own opinion, rejecting what does not.
I blame Facebook and the "like" mentality that it brought to the surface, with millions of idiots thinking that just because someone agrees with them in one thing think everyone should agree with them in everything.

I see this constantly concerning ancient aliens and ancient lost advanced civilizations.
"Water erosion" "proving" the sphinx predates Egypt.
The YDIH crap.
The Iron pillar in India that never rusts.
You can't carve stone with copper tools.
"Flash frozen" mammoths.
Mining gold for the Anunnaki.
Hell, ANYTHING about the Anunnaki.

I'm not a Vulcan, so I definitely understand that. However, it irks me when they shut me down because "my feelings!". Or "they're not all like that!". When 8/10 redheads slap you, there's a redhead problem and even though "they're not all like that" doesn't mean the majority are. (Talking about TPTB and how some may be "good" people.)

Nail. On. The. Head! When they can't refute you, one of the five abovementioned terms come into play.

I get that way too, more often than I'd like to admit. So, "I know that feel bro".

Normal reaction. It happens more often than we like to admit. We are dissociated while driving a car, if you where on a horse at those speeds you would be terrified or at least know of the danger. Dissociation each time we get into a car. After a car accident driving behavior usually changes drastically.
The same thing happens with UFO's and paranormal activity. Involuntarily shutdown. It's not always apparent to the person. Momentary confusion and then getting back to what was churning the wheel before.
The point of all this is and quoting Diana's book Encounters
Quote:Physicist Rosalyn Yalow noted, “New truths become evident when new tools become available.” Technological tools like rockets, space capsules, rovers, and technologies that extend human senses to the surface of Mars and to places that are far away from Earth bring about new experiences, new truths, and new mental states
It takes time for the brain to adjust and "new tools" being new information and having to reprocesses a lived life
Such things is also an attack on the ego. Your ignorance or incomitance being plain to see in the moment along with being helpless. It's just all normal

My neighbor, love her to death, does the same deer in the headlights, smiling but stunned look when I try to explain ANYTHING even remotely technical to her.
The Mr. Horse reference got you a buddy request lol

Let me get this straight. You self admitted to saying or doing things that directly offended be for whatever beliefs, and when you get that back towards you, you cry wolf? Maybe a decade ago I would feel bad, how it's just pity.
