The pope has to appear 'gentle as Jesus'.
The pope is right that money shouldn't be the end all.
But he's also wrong in that someone should be able to make as much as they can if they want to as long as they don't hurt anyone.
And considering how bankrupt and corrupt the Catholic church is ... Musks post back was excellent.
If someone in good faith looks at greed from a religious aspect, it’s a different context than a societal one.
If we’re talking purely from a societal and legal standpoint, it’s clear as day that what Musk is doing is fine (assuming there’s no crimes we’re unaware of). Hell, he’s benefited the country and possibly humanity if SpaceX advancements help us in our extraterrestrial exploring (assuming it doesn’t help bring us to Kessler Syndrome).
From a religious standpoint, there’s an argument to be made that if you believed in Christianity, Musk may not be saved. That said, if you believe in Christianity, you’d know God makes that judgement, and Christianity allows for forgiveness of sins. Who knows, maybe he donated his money and accepts Jesus. Who knows, he’s been all over the place and will likely continue to do so to the grave.
I don’t think it’s black or white. I still think Musk is equally as wrong for pulling out a verse against someone in religious context, much less the Pope. While I noted I think the Vatican as a whole is wrong too, I don’t doubt the knowledge the Pope has on the Bible. I’m sure it greatly exceeds my knowledge and Musks put together.

I wouldn’t say he hasn’t hurt anyone. Lithium mining is no joke, it’s one of the valid criticisms of “clean” energy. That said, every technology has its infancy, so I won’t use that one valid criticism to discount the whole industry. There may need a day we need to offset or outright replace. That’s the beauty of a free competitive market.
He also bragged about about the coup in Bolivia for their lithium. Some read into him being involved, I’m not sure.
Again, probably legal and sound societally, but I’m not sure how it would look in a religious context.

'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone' (John 8:7) won't be missed by papal or Vatican critics and detractors. It'd be wise if before making sweeping statements about other people's flaws or failings, for Leo or any religious leader, to make sure their own nose is clean.
But let's be honest here, Musk is a greedy bastard and I for one would respect him more if rather than offering a retort, had admitted his greed.

One is left to wonder why in the World you are a Catholic.
Musk calls himself a "Cultural Christian", because he grew up around Christianity.
I used to joke about being an "Ethnic Christian", entitled to all the honors and glory associated thereto. Then I discovered that that was "cultural appropriation" which is not only not politically correct, but also against my religion.

It's all recorded in the Bible, including the lists of the things he bought for dedication to God, and who he bought them from.
Solomon built the Temple, fitting it out with gold and jewels, and he sacrificed eye-watering numbers of prime-quality stock animals to God (When he dedicated the Temple, he offered sacrificed 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep and goats over a 7 day period, as recorded in 1 Kings 8:63-64 and in 2 Chronicles 7:5-7).
There is record that Solomon paid fairly for the things he purchased and didn't horde up wealth, but dedicated a lot of it to God. And yet, under his rule, the prosperity of the kingdom also grew to its peak, indicating that he wasn't ripping off the people to do so.

And the U.S. government was for sale evidently. Musk got all the regulatory bureaus either erased or at least caused to drop fines and investigations of his companies.
We Went to the Town Elon Musk Is Poisoning
Quote:Elon Musk’s massive xAI data center is poisoning Memphis. It's burning enough gas to power a small city, with no permits and no pollution controls. Residents tell us they can’t breathe and they’re getting sicker.
----- More Perfect Union’s mission is to build power for working people. Here’s what that means:
We report on the real struggles and challenges of the working class from a working-class perspective, and we attempt to connect those problems to potential solutions.
We report on the abuses and wrongdoing of corporate power, and we seek to hold accountable the ultra-rich who have too much power over America’s political and economic systems.
And now the National Guard is in Memphis. Hmmm

The leadership is deeply flawed and there is human corruption like you get with anything run by humans, but the core spiritual beliefs come the closest to what I believe is true. Satan hates anything holy so he attacks and does a good job of corrupting people. But the deposit of faith is in tact. Catholics believe a lot of things that the other Christians don't, but the one thing that stands out with Catholics that the other Christian faiths doesn't have is the Communion of Saints. This I believe to be true and very important. The 'dead' are awake, aware, and active.

Like Elon Musk said ... take the log out of your own eye ...
Vatican Trial of the Century Explodes
Quote: The Vatican’s “ trial of the century ” had it all: part Dan Brown thriller, part John Grisham legal drama, part low-brow Shakespeare tragicomedy.
The financial whodunnit about the Holy See’s bungled 350 million euro investment in a London property was notable for its surreal cast of characters and exposure of Vatican vendettas, espionage and even papal ransom payments to Islamic militants.
The appeals trial opening Monday could be just as explosive.
WHY THIS MATTERS: The hearings could expose even more unwanted revelations about the Vatican’s inner workings, including details about Pope Francis’ hands-on role in the whole, sordid affair. That’s because thousands of pages of private text messages among the players recently became public.
