Yes mate a lot of researchers I respect don't think UFOs are extra solar aliens either (despite the constant mainstream promotion) - am sure you know there are plenty of different origin hypotheses out there but maybe the answer is something nobody has even thought of yet lol.
Have posted it before but thought this vid was truly relevant one as it posits that ignoring UFO evidence just because of the assumption that 'UFOs are aliens' is 'inherently contradictory, presumptuous and unscientific'.

As for the thread subject there's a rather curious one below from Japan in 1948 which is still held as officially 'unidentified' and may have the distinction of being the first ever radar correlated UFO case.
Atmospherical physicist Dr James E. Mcdonald reported on the incident in his statement on UFOs to U.S. House Committee on Science and Aeronatics and he makes some interesting comments below about flight characteristics.
