Dr. Demento
#1
Radio, what's new? Radio, someone still loves youuu!

One of the most treasured things I just can't throw away is an old radio alarm clock from my childhood. Many nights I'd lie awake and listen to the airwaves. The best sleep one can ever have.

Anybody remember Dr. Demento? I totally forgot that was part of my weekly routine as a kid! Youtube finally got one right when it recommended to me this blast from the past by Weird Al. And for fun here's a few other of my favorite Demented radio staples.

Dr. Demento aired Weird Al's first parodies, which were self recorded in dorm bathrooms.

I remember it. Based on where I was living at the time it must have been around 1979 to 1980. It was around the same time I bought this 45 record with a really cool/awesome song that for the life of me cannot find anywhere today because I guess I just don't remember enough about it.

If I recall correctly, I think where I was the Dr. Demento show came on around midnight. I was never a loyal listener but would just be listening to the radio and then on would come the Dr. Demento theme song: Dr. Demento...Dr. Demento.

Don't remember much else really except "fish eggs fish eggs roly poly fish eggs" for some reason.
Mod interference. It's moving time again.

That old memory corrected itself: it was "fish heads" not "eggs".
