Newsmax to pay $67M to settle defamation lawsuit from voting machine company

The conservative cable news channel Newsmax will pay $67 million to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by the voting machine company Dominion over baseless claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged, according to a new regulatory filing.

It really comes as no surprise, Newsmax already settled with Smartmatic.

Newsmax previously agreed to pay $40 million to the voting technology company Smartmatic to settle another election defamation lawsuit.

Hopefully this tempers some of the more outlandish stories so called news organizations spread as if its truth.

They didn't. They said "the arrival on the US politcal scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, much of it related to his time serving on the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation".

Everyone misquotes that. Which was kind of the point, I suppose.


The Letter
