That the speed of a computer mouse is measured in Mickey's ?

Quote:Animal-based names are surprisingly common when it comes to units of measurement. In addition to horsepower (which usually measures the output of engines or motors) and hogsheads (today mostly used for alcohol), there’s also the mickey — a semi-official means of measuring the speed of a computer mouse. Named after a certain Disney character who’s probably the world’s most famous rodent, it’s specifically used to describe the smallest measurable movement the device can take. In real terms, that equals 1/200th of an inch, or 0.1 millimeter. Both the sensitivity (mickeys per inch) and speed (mickeys per second) of a computer mouse are measured this way by computer scientists.

I was just randomly scrolling through YouTube shorts and saw that.

Ya learn something new every day.

Awesome!   I can't wait to wriggle this innocuous information into casual conversation.   It will take patience and finesse.

Did you know that when you open the Task Manager, holding down the Ctrl key pauses the display of processes?

Ive been in the game 30+ years and i only learned that about a fortnight ago.

Makes it infinitely easier to end a process.

I always though mouse speed was measured in DPI.

Thanks for sharing this information.

You made me smile.   You should win a prize, but will  [Image: applause.gif] [Image: applause.gif] [Image: applause.gif] suffice?

That's the precision of the detection.

Did you know...

You have no or very little feeling in your wenis? (sometimes spelled weenus or weenis). Everybody has two but unless you're weird, the wenis is also a very difficult or impossible spot to lick.

I thought better about my funny reply.

I will also cavort and wriggle to work that tidbit into conversation.   The next few days look to be turning out better than I expected.    I have to travel.   Among strangers.   Whom I'll never see again.   Wow
