Dead or on the lamb?

I call crap on that "Dry Drowning" or better known as Asphyxiation. My evidence is this story:
Man Found Alive at Bottom of the Sea 3 Days After Boat Sank: 'Total Shock' - Newsweek
Quote:On May 23, it will be 10 years since a man named Harrison Okene survived three days at the bottom of the sea in the wreck of a ship.

The 29-year-old had been trapped in the freezing cold and pitch-black darkness 100 feet beneath the ocean surface for 60 hours. He is believed to have been just hours from death when he was found.

"It was very unexpected and a total shock to find someone alive after the vessel sank days before," Nico van Heerden, the diver who found Okene, told Newsweek. "He was not the first person we came across, though. Before we found him, we found and recovered the bodies of three of his colleagues that perished during the incident. Very tragic indeed."
So, this guy was in a small, very small, cabin for three days trapped in an air pocket and was still alive, but Lynch and friends were in much larger cabins and died due to lack of oxygen in less than a day? Were Lynch and friends gassed before the boat went down?

Every time new "evidence" comes out the question of them being dead before the boat went under still lingers. I mean what next, they were unresponsive when the boat was shaking around for 9 minutes due to too much oxygen?

At this point, I honestly think they have absolutely no idea what happened and are simply making things up.

All Italian sites I saw talk about drowning or asphyxiation, so I don't think it's "some fantasy term come up with by Italian investigators"

We don't know that, we only know that only one was used.

I remember that case.
In this case, we don't know the size of the hypothetical air pocket, but it was used, supposedly, by four people instead of one, so the time would have be reduced to 25%.
Another thing that makes a big difference is temperature. In the case you mention, the man was very, very cold, which slows down the metabolism, so if he kept calm he could use much less oxygen than he would at higher temperatures.
In the case of the Bayesian, one of the sources I saw stated that a meteorologist said that water temperature on that area reached 30º C, so the air would have much less oxygen.

That was my first thought.

A little update that might produce some answers.
Divers find cameras on Mike Lynch's superyacht that could solve sinking (nypost.com)
Quote:Video surveillance cameras retrieved from the wreckage of tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s yacht may solve the mystery of why it sank in a storm off Sicily last month.
Divers from the Italian Navy retrieved video surveillance equipment, including computers and hard drives, that will be analyzed in specialized labs, according to a report Saturday.

Hopefully some solid answers will come forth with this new data getting sorted through.

What the???
Top secret files which sunk with Bayesian yacht raided by MI6: report
Quote:A James Bond-esque mission to recover highly sensitive secret files held in safes aboard the sunken super-yacht Bayesian was reportedly carried out by UK intelligence service MI6 before Italian divers could get to them.

The top secret documents related to yacht owner Mike Lynch’s Darktrace cybersecurity company, which has contracts with UK, US and Israeli intelligence agencies, according to a report in the Italian press.

It is not associated with Autonomy, the company he sold to compluting giant Hewlett Packard for $11 billion in 2011.

Sources close to the Italian investigation claimed British MI6 agents removed sensitive computer equipment and data belonging to Lynch — one of seven people killed in the sea tragedy last August — from the shipwreck, before the Italian authorities started to send divers to recover it this week.

Talk about a weird update.
Quote:
Shipwreck survivors previously told prosecutors that Lynch — a tech tycoon dubbed the British Steve Jobs — “did not trust cloud services” and always kept data drives in a secure compartment of the yacht wherever he sailed.

The Bayesian was believed to contain the trove of top-secret documents and confidential data on foreign governments held in the ship’s hull in a series of waterproof safes.
Lynch was a key figure in Western intelligence circles who served as an adviser to two British prime ministers on science, technology and cyber security. Darktrace maintained ties with MI5, MI6 — also known as the Secret Intelligence Service — US, and Israeli intelligence agencies, accroding to Tiscali.

So now the question has to be brought up again, "Was Lynch afraid that he would be killed next, and was a rampaging Nancy Pelosi behind Chamberlains death?"

Was he killed for the information he might have had on the Pelosi Family, or was there something on board in those servers that someone wanted badly enough to kill for?
