Radio waves sometimes act in a strange way.
Many years ago (I was still in school, somewhere in the previous century), I noticed that I could pick conversations on my FM radio, which wasn't supposed to happen.
I talked to a colleague that was into amateur radio and he said that that situation was known and it was created by the nearby 25 de Abril bridge over the Tagus river (a bridge similar to the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco), as its complex steel structure acted as a kind of two way antenna that converted some frequencies into different frequencies.
