I'm going to make Christmas cookies and thought I'd share recipes here. Please share yours or what adjustments you would make!
Pepperment Meringue Cookies
2 egg whites at room temperature
⅛ tsp salt
⅛ tsp cream of tarter
¾ cup sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
3 tbsp crushed candy cane
Heat oven to 250°. Place egg whites in small bowl and beat at high speed until foamy. Add salt and cream of tarter and continue beating until soft peaks form. Add sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, beating well after each addition. When meringue is stiff and white, fold in vanilla, chocolate chips, nuts, and candy by hand. Drop by tsp onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 40 minutes. Cool on wire rack, store in airtight container. Make 5 dozen.

Peanut Butter Blossoms
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup creamy peanut butter
½ cup butter, softened
1 egg
1½ cup all-purpose flour
¾ tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
additional granulated sugar
36 Hershey's Kisses
Heat oven to 375°. Cream butter and mix in peanut butter and egg, then add sugars, stirring until well blended. Sift together flour, baking soda, and baking powder, then gradually add to mixture, mixing well. Shape into 1" balls and roll in additional granulated sugar to coat. Place on ungreased cookie tray, 2" apart. Bake 8-10 minutes. Immediately press one Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie. Cool on wire rack. Makes 3 dozen.

I'm not a fan of peppermint but I suppose other candy cane flavors can be used, but the peanut butter blossoms sound good.
I usually use my mother's Chocolate Chip recipe and/or ginger snaps or vintage gingerbread recipes for Christmas, but this year I am making Tiramisu with Bailey's Irish Cream as a special request, but I have to make half of it decaf and the other caffeinated, again by special request.
I suppose Tiramisu is a cookie dish or rather a soaked cookie dish. lol

For chocolate chip cookies, I haven't found better that the recipe on the Nestlé packet. Although sometimes I will make them with Ghirardelli chocolate chips. I'm from a timeline where it was spelled "Ghiradeli", so perhaps the Mandela Effect adds extra flavour.
Do you have a recipe for ginger snaps? I've always wanted to make them! I like the Swedish kind, a little spicy with chunks of actual ginger.

I think we should open an online bakery. If you bake I will sell!
Be kind to everyone!

Add one teaspoon of bacon grease to that.
I know it sounds weird, but just try it with one batch.

Well, I don't know where my mother got her chocolate chip recipe, but for my taste they are the best I've ever eaten.
I usually try whatever recipe I can find online and they always came out crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside, that's okay, but the kind I buy at the bakery are all flat and crispy, and I prefer that texture, so I found a youtube recipe where they show you what to do to get both textures.
I only have whole cloves and fresh ginger, so I just put both in my electric grinder, cloves first...ginger afterwards. Perfecto!
Every time I want to make 'ole time gingerbread I always look for the recipes from the 1800s, again, always very simple recipes so they can be tweaked.
The Swedish call these cookies 'pepper cookies'. I like this recipe because it is simple and I can change it up easily if I feel like a making it a different flavor.
I just spent the morning preparing the veggies for Christmas day, man that's a lot of work. Tomorrow will be working on the Tiramisu and roast beef with all trimmings, and a big pot of mulled wine and that's only half of what is to come from guests. Now it's time for some fun and a reward for myself today, so off I go to the casino for a dopamine rush and a nice dinner.
Have a wonderful Christmas dinner and good cheer with friends and family, it's the best of the holiday IMO.

I don't really do baking.
Tomorrow, I'm doing Lobster and prawn cocktail, with Bloody Mary sauce. The lobster shells will be used to make a sauce for pan fried scallops and bacon with garlic and herb butter.
It's amazing the flavour that comes out of the shells.
Now off to watch Carols from Kings. X
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope. Nothing...
