While you were distracted and looking at all the shiny objections/distractions, voter registrations are being deleted.
"Texas Hands Over Its Entire Voter Registration List to the Trump AdministrationThe Democratic National Committee said the move to hand over the voter roll could violate federal election law."
"Experts and state officials around the country have raised concerns over the legality of the Justice Department’s effort to obtain states’ voter rolls and whether it could compromise voter privacy protections. The Justice Department has said it is entitled to the data under federal law, and withholding it interferes with its ability to exercise oversight and enforce federal election laws."

Quote: Votebeat is an online media platform under the Civic News Company that reports on local elections across the United States from a left-of-center perspective. The platform in addition to its routine reporting. Votebeat also states that it times its reporting to match what it calls “moments of greatest consequence” to mobilize its reader base. The platform lists left-of-center racial ideology as one of its core values, and claims that an “ongoing legacy of racism” exists in American elections and in the media. [sup]1[/sup]
Though initially launched as a pop-up outlet in 2020 by Chalkbeat, a similar online media platform that provides left-of-center coverage of the American education system, Votebeat was relaunched as a permanent news outlet in 2022. [sup]2[/sup]
Votebeat’s journalistic “code of ethics” is inspired by the Marshall Project, ProPublica, the Texas Tribune, the Center for Investigative Reporting, the Education Writers Association, and the Society for Professional Journalists. [sup]3[/sup]
BackgroundVotebeat is a spin-off of Chalkbeat, a similar online media platform that provides left-of-center coverage of the American education system both nationally and in select states. Votebeat’s founding was inspired by a desire to challenge alleged threats to election integrity from supporters of then-President Donald Trump ®. [sup]4[/sup]
Both platforms have a track record of making controversial claims in their reporting. Chalkbeat has alleged that “white Americans are treated differently in courtrooms,” and Votebeat has referred to Conservative Partnership Institute fellow Cleta Mitchell, a prominent advocate of election integrity measures, as a “voter fraud conspiracy theorist.” [sup]5[/sup] [sup]6[/sup] Most of the Votebeat leadership have track records of working for left-of-center corporations and media outlets, including Facebook and the New York Times. [sup]7[/sup]
Votebeat launched in late 2020. At the time, the platform had almost $1 million in funding for four employees as well as 15 reporters stationed at ten partner organizations. At its launch, it was not clear whether Votebeat would remain active until the conclusion of the 2020 election cycle or continue operations after the elections. Votebeat continued to publish content after the election. [sup]8[/sup] In January 2021, the news outlet Axios reported that Votebeat would continue its operations until at least the conclusion of the 2022 midterm elections. [sup]9[/sup] [sup]4[/sup]
During the 2020 election cycle, Votebeat claimed credit for getting Texas to repeal a law requiring its election officials to replace their vote counting machines by 2026, stopping a Republican official in Arizona from getting more power, raising awareness of alleged unequal voting structures across Pennsylvania, and highlighting the efforts of an electoral official in Texas to fight Republican “extremists” searching for voter fraud. [sup]10[/sup]
In May 2022, Votebeat announced that it would become a permanent year-round news outlet with a team of eight journalists, and that its coverage was extending to Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The effort was funded by $3.1 million in fundraising from the Loud Hound Foundation, the William Penn Foundation, and the Joyce Foundation, with the goal of spending $1.6 million annually. Votebeat pledged to make its stories available for free to local news outlets, and that it had formed partnerships with Bridge Michigan, Spotlight PA, and the Texas Tribune. [sup]2[/sup] [sup]11[/sup]
In February 2023, Votebeat and Chalkbeat were reorganized as separate groups under the umbrella of the nonprofit Civic News Company (CNC). [sup]12[/sup] CNC states that its journalism is “grounded in the values of equality and antiracism.” [sup]1[/sup]

They said it best.
"Connecticut Attorney General William Tong released the following statement in response to the lawsuit:
Quote:“We tried to work cooperatively with DOJ to understand the basis for their request for our voters’ sensitive personal information. Rather than communicating productively with us, they rushed to sue. The State of Connecticut complies with federal law, and takes its obligations under federal laws very seriously, and we will vigorously defend the state against this meritless and deeply disappointing lawsuit.” Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas issued the following statement:
Quote:“I am not surprised that Connecticut has been added to the long list of states being sued on these grounds. As Secretary of the State, my foremost responsibility is to the voters of Connecticut who entrust the state and their local election officials with sensitive data so they can participate in our representative democracy without fear that their information will be misused or exposed. As Connecticut knows, our office takes election integrity seriously, and we follow the law while making sure our elections remain accessible, secure, and transparent. That balance is essential to maintaining public trust, and it’s something I will continue to protect.”

And another thing, Christmas Eve 2025, The US Postal Service made changes to their post mark rules. Now postmarks are placed at central processing hubs rather than at the local post office. Which amounts to:
1) Ballot picked up on election day is not postmarked at local post office.
2) Ballot postmarked one or two days later at a processing hub.
3) Ballot arrives at counting place later than voting day with a post mark after election day.
4) Ballot gets disqualified and never counted.
Expect millions of ballots to be not counted in 2026 mid-term elections.
Also, some postage paid ballot envelopes have scan codes. Those don't even get a post mark at all.
So mail ballots at least a week early. Or, stand in line at post office and get it hand stamped. Or use a ballot drop box.
Changes to USPS code may put Medicare paperwork and mail-in ballots at risk

It seems there are reasons for people to be distrustful. How many people know about these changes and what Trump is doing to get everyone's voting registration data in his control?

"“These results make it 100% clear: the media is fragmented across generations and political parties,” says Lesley Lopez, director of the public relations and communications program for George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management. “Those leaders who seek to connect with the American public will have to modernize and rethink their strategies, and also find ways to break through the growing mistrust. Communicators have their work cut out for them, but this research provides insights that will guide the way forward.”"

Democrats taking advantage of the current negative feelz towards Trump to bolster their voter registrations.
"The initiative, being announced on Tuesday, will begin in Arizona and Nevada with at least $2 million for training organizers. It's the first step in what could become the DNC's largest-ever push to sign up new voters, with a particular focus on young people, voters of color and people without college educations. All of those demographics drifted away from Democrats in the last presidential race, which returned Republican Donald Trump to the White House."
"The DNC initiative aims to reach non-college-educated young voters by recruiting organizers from a wide array of backgrounds, like gig economy workers and young parents, who have often been overlooked in the party’s grassroots efforts. Democrats hope that organizers' own perspectives and experiences will help party strategists learn how to connect with Americans in blue-collar roles who are disaffected with politics, whom the party fears it has lost touch with in recent elections."
