Cheap drone swarms.

What's the deal here? I always thought there was attempts to make military efforts expensive.

What is the counter, more drones?

*not a massive swarm, I have seen worse come out of a F16

These are apparently Iranian-made "suicide drones".

People, please help prevent drone suicide. Drone lives matter.

Small drones are, currently, difficult to stop and can do a fair amount of damage. That's what's driving current C-UAS systems and technology. The problem with them is that with a decent area denial system, they're going to fall out of the sky and be fairly easy to stop. It's just that currently there's no good, operational system that can do it yet.

You can buy the parts and assemble a drone for under 100 dollars.

If you 3d print the frame it’s even cheaper…

The munitions probably cost more than the drones.

The Iranian design basically uses a lawnmower engine for flight, and a recoverable booster rocket for launch. Cheap cheap cheap.
