What is the difference in Nixon Watergate and Obama Trump wiretap

The difference to me is the aftermath:
The furor, the press coverage, the legal battles fought.
All the President's Men
People went to jail.
Nixon resigned.

And here we are.

IMHO, the CTer in me, "THEY" needed Watergate to get rid of Nixon.

I just saw an interview with Roger Stone.

And yes.....the CIA was just as involved in getting rid of Nixon as they were with JFK.

He reported that he talked with Nixon about JKF and was told both he--Nixon--had designs on the White House.  But He--Nison--wouldn't kill to get there.

It's amazing how many media tropes and ancient memery takes on a new light when we realize just who it was that "had him take the wrap" on this.

It doesn't really speak much to the attendant 'reasons why, and who did what' when you look at it from the perspective of Obama somehow pulling the same stunt.

There is a civic lesson to be learned here, (actually several) primarily that partisan conduct for or against a political motive is never beyond the political 'theater of engagement.'

To say they don't care is not relevant.  They care about "appearances."

Obama patronized an entire industry over "appearances."

Nixon was made to "appear" what we see in most "media" and it remains often as "fact."
Same with the JFK assassination, most any public conspiracy, even the reporting media's own conduct and actions.

There was no difference in the bullshit political gamesmanship, like toxic frat brothers...

But there was a difference... in "appearances" of the perpetrator.
