The Mayor raised the police budget by 7%, as she says, it was a 'reset'. That's where the money went - hard decisions to be made. Read what the Mayor says about not being properly funded nor having the proper resources for fire events of this magnitude.

"The amount of calls that our firefighters are running today has doubled since 2010, a 55% increase with 68 fewer people. Full transparency. This isn't a new problem for us," she said. "Since the three years that I've been in the seat, I've sounded the alarm to say we need more."
"This is no longer sustainable. So with that, we are now in a position to be properly funded," she said. "We are screaming to be properly funded to make sure that our firefighters can do their jobs so that we can serve the community."

Where is the money coming from for the resources needed to combat more severe and more frequent future fires like these? Because even with that third reservoir, it would have been drained very quickly, like the other two reservoirs.
Then what happens if resources are in place for this magnitude of disaster, then the next fire event is twice as severe?
