Comer wrote in letters to each person that the committee must "conduct oversight of the federal government's enforcement of sex trafficking laws generally and specifically its handling of the investigation and prosecution of Mr Epstein" and Maxwell.
He also indicated that depositions will start this month and run through the autumn, with Bill Clinton scheduled for 14 October.
Former Attorneys General Merrick Garland, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder and Alberto Gonzales were summoned, along with Jeff Sessions and William Barr, who both led the justice department during Trump's first term. Former FBI Sirectors James Comey and Robert Mueller were also sent subpoenas.

Is this why Trump said there is "no list" because he might prejudice the congressional investigation?
I don't have much of an idea how US laws work, so some clarification would be appreciated.

I am fairly confident that there are three choices...

1) Neither testifies....
Which could pan out to only one testifies... guess who has immunity already?

2) Both "mark time" by testifying and contributing nothing to the case.
As previously noted, "I don't recalls" and "What is the definition of "is?"

3) Media-generated "flash" drama will overtake coverage... my most tempting guess.

Perhaps some amazing 'investigative reporting' product will save the sex cabal.

'Jesus returned. said "screw you guys...and left!"
"Super celebrity secrets shared!"
"Keanu Reeves, beats dog, does meth on bus, masturbates in public!*"

We often forget when dealing with the shameless...
